good for pwo?
western bagels are the best out there and lowest calorie i have seen.
Definitely good preworkout...May want something with sugar like fruit for postworkout, definitely not the worst thing post workout though.
these are real whole wheat, and should be easy to find

strong calorie density
they're for PWO...which means he should be having around 90 carbs. that's about half of that, + a bunch of protein, fiber, etc.
they're a good choice

yea i found those- they have hfcs though
Go With What Oddball is talking about. They are Called western bagels and you can pick them up at any wal-mart that I have ever been too. They are also very tasty toasted! I make an egg sandwich out of them every morning. Something like 9g of fiber
lol, i love how anal some of you guys are about HFCS...
its sugar. big deal.
the main reason it's talked down so much on these boards is because if you want to know whether or not something is highly processed, the HFCS is a good marker
even some of you that down 90g of pure dex. after you workout are afraid of a couple g's of sugar in something
sugar PWO=fine
having 9g of sugar from a bagel which gives 9g of protein and good fiber is essential PWO in anyones book.. sure the body will use the sugar to help spike the insulin along with some good protein source)
i would def reccomend pepperridge.. also in local grocery stores u can ask to make specilty bagels and have them make one straight from whole wheat baking powder..
Here are the nutrition facts for the whole wheat Western brand bagels.

well i dont know what book youre reffereing too, in case you didnt know post WO insulin spikes are absolutely pointless if you have a decent preWO meal, also those 9 grams of protein are incomplete making them pretty much pointless to add to your PWO protein totals.
i'm sure the amino acid profile of whey completes the bagel's protein...no?
