I dunno, I'm less than 4 hours from the Atlantic Ocean (VA beach), and 5-5.5 hours to the Outer Banks. I never head east, I head south, then east. I stay out of MD and DC whenever possible.
I'm also 45 minutes from the Shenandoah Valley, and 2 miles from the Potomac River (think snakeheads).
I've been looking around Culpepper since I work from home a lot, but Haymarket, Purcellville, Middleburg, Aldie are all a 'little' out there compared to living in closer to the beltway. Only thing to keep in mind is that the way sprawl and development has happened, don't expect a sleepy town to stay sleepy around here for 10 years.
I was born in Colorado Springs, so it won't offend me at all if you pick there.
Cavy brah, after looking into it quite a bit the proximity to Washington just freaks me out too much. I did, however, get my interest in NC re-peaked when I found out yall have quite a bit of Bigfoot in your forests out there.

Theres a guy in town that actually meets people on bigfoot forums and invites them down to go hunting bigfoot with him. (dead srs) His daughter is a friend of my wifes and she says he has cast feet and blown up trail cam pics of bigfoot.

Military. aka, millie.
The para is smaller. Those are all 4" blades in the picture.
It's big. When you hold one and open it up you realize the pictures don't quite capture. It is pretty thin and slim in your pocket though. Very nice.

Yeah unless you use it a lot it aint worth it. About the winterizing though, we use ours more in the winter than we ever do in the summer, it's my hunting machine and gets me to remote camping. I park my current boat in my backyard behind a privacy fence gate I made, but this new one will be too wide to fit through it so I'll have to leave it at my dad's place, which means I'll have to get a cover for it to keep the oak tree garbage from falling into it. Arg, I see lots of new investments headed my way.

In your situation I'd be much more willing to buy one. I don't think my HOA would like a boat sitting in my backyard though, lol...
In your situation I'd be much more willing to buy one. I don't think my HOA would like a boat sitting in my backyard though, lol...
My HOA pitched a fit with it in the driveway (which I wasn't gonna leave it there anyway just hadn't had a chance to move it) but they left me alone for 3+ years with it in the backyard because you can't see it behind the privacy fence and that's the way it was written in the rules. Somewhere along the 4 year mark I got a letter about it and I looked up the rules so I could reference them in my letter back and they had changed them on me, lol, now it simply read that a boat could not be stored anywhere on HOA property. Bastages! I took it over to my dad's house for a couple months and then brought it back without any trouble. Lately between trips it'll be in the driveway Thu-Fri and again Sun-Mon/Tue as I prep/deprep it and haven't had any issues. There's a rental house across the way and I never seem to have any trouble unless there's a For Rent sign out front, I think the realtor that puts the place up sends in a bunch of complaints on everything until they get a lease signed.
