Dave Palumbo Keto Diet?
Hey there my trusty Nutrition section folks. I know there is a Keto subforum but I wanted to get some input from you guys on the "Palumbo Keto Diet"
For a 250lb man it is suggested to eat the following:
Meal 1 6 whole Omega-3 eggs
Meal 2 8oz chicken with 1/2 cup raw almonds
Meal 3 50g whey with 2 tablespoons all natural peanutbutter
Meal 4 8oz salmon with 1 cup asparagus with 1 tablespoon macadamia nut oil
Meal 5 50 g whey with 2 tablespoon PB
Meal 6 6 whole eggs
Breaks down to:
2905 Cals 160g fat 54g carbs (13g fiber...wut?) 304g protein
I am on IF right now and have been enjoying it so far. I would think that combining some of these meals and subbing things with the same/very close macros would be fine.
Now the real question...Is there any advantage body-composition-wise to being on Keto with these macros (would definitely supplement fiber/eat more green veggies)
Eating 2900 cals with a more even distribution of p/f/c besides holding a bit more water from the carbs, would there be a difference in the amount of fat loss?
According to the bodymedia fit my average burn in the past 28 days is 4239 cals
I am looking to cut down about 35lbs so I can get to 215lbs then see where I am at.
Thanks for any input. Hoping for the experienced/knowledgable members of this forum to chime in!

Not unless you have some sort of intolerance to carbs, like insulin resistance.

Do you know there's this huge thread on his diet protocol in this nutrition section, right?

Yes indeed, I have posted in that thread and used it for the month that I did this ketogenic diet. I just wanted to get some input from folks such as yourself who are regulars of this section of the forum since I know that the audience between the two sections is quite different.
Now the real question...Is there any advantage body-composition-wise to being on Keto with these macros (would definitely supplement fiber/eat more green veggies)
Unless you have metabolic syndrom, it's not going to impact bodyweight and composition as long as you at least hit macronutrient sufficiency levels.
However, energy, satiety and palatability are highly dependent on the individual and you should optimize nutrition timing, partitioning and composition to maximize your satisfaction.

Thank you for this very well written response. I will be experimenting with lowering my calories for this cut and might lower the carbs accordingly.
I have read in my nutrition textbook at college that ketones are dangerous, does anyone have any input on that?
