Saturday 10.18.2014- Cardio
No weights, just hit some treadmill action to get a sweat going.
Loaded up my old hiking backpack with a 25 pound plate and threw that on my back for the duration
Treadmill- Full Incline 25lb Pack
30 min
1.641 miles
262.8 cals burned (according to treadmill- prob doesn't account for backpack weight so who knows)

This morning
Lmao awesome
Thanks dude!
I've done 2 runs of TM, both with much success. When my formerly fatass hit a 405x1 squat @ 209 BW, it was at the end of a TM run.
That's a huge lift. Are you planning to keep a cap on your weight gains during TM ... I know that you're doing this reverse diet but it must be tempting to push the caps a bit with the TM cycle. Same deal with the cardio (you can keep treadmills and backpacks to yourself ;)) .. are you going to keep that up or start winding back?

Heh Im gonna try to get in one treadmill/ backpack session per week but I promsie nothing. I despise the treadmill, mountain trail or gtfo
I'm not gonna be scared to gain some BW, thanksgiving to Christmas themed dreamer bulk incoming lol

Everyone else in the nutrtion section would say otherwise
brb gain 5 pounds and want to cut again.
So glad you have no weight limit, Fuk the scale its all the mirror
if you can add 20 pounds and be somewhat lean but see drastic changes and improvements in the gym that is what mattrs most.

Honestly I can get away with going full retard for the winter. The only time I got really fat was when I pushed my bulk for 18 months lol
Fuk cutting, need some extra weight to stay warm over the Long New England winter. 10-12 week cut in spring/ summer and GTG

Exactly this.
Mentally accept the change and just focus on gym performance and keep yourself in check by the mirror and not the scale.
Day 1 baby! Super stoked for the next chapter of your program!

Yea buddy! I was stoked for day one when I got up at 3AM this morning lmao
Been a good monday so far- getting lots done at work, got an email I've been waiting for all weekend, motivation is high!
Another one heads to TM. Whee!
In for even MORE gains, if that's even possible...

Makes 2 of us
Erie had the most snowfall last year in the US
Monday 10.20.2014- Texas Method Week 1- Volume Day
Awwwww yet, couldn't wait for this one.
Awesome day from start to finish. Came home and really tore into this one.
Did ramping 5x5 sets as per the TM book for week 1. Starting conservative since It's a big increase in volume, esp after the past month of low volume heavy weight intensity while I was ramping up to max attempts.
Went with Dope's advice and stuck seated OHP 3x5 in after bench. Started light and will be cautious with increases. If I do stall out, maybe I'll swap in CGBP with the same scheme for a month, then go back. We shall see what the future brings!
Workout took about 75 min. Need to monitor my time and might end up dropping some of the accessory work if it becomes an issue when the weights get heavier and I'm resting longer between sets
Squats
45 x 10
135 x 5
185 x 5
225 x 5
245 x 5
255 x 5
265 x 5
275 x 5
each set felt better and better. 2-2.5 min rest between sets. 275 was just enough that bar speed was slowing down. Some left in the tank which is good for week 1!
Bench
45 x 10
45 x 10
135 x 5
175 x 5
205 x 5
215 x 5
225 x 5
235 x 5
245 x 5
launched every rep like a rocket. Much bar speed, felt powerful and tight in my setup. fuk yea
Seated OHP
45 x 5
45 x 5
95 x 5
105 x 5
115 x 5
easy, but wanted to start extra conservative on this one
DB Rows
85 x 8
95 x 9
105 x 8
No bench, just rested my free hand on my knee. supersetted with the OHP sets
Dips
+10 x 8
+10 x 8
+10 x 8
easy, will add another +10 next time
ss w/
Pull Ups
+45 x 5
+45 x 5
+45 x 5
just right, prob 1-2in the tank on each set.

Murica!!!!!!
Lmao
Thanks my man, had a blast with this one! Awesome way to start the run
Look at all that squat volume! Nice start to TM man looking forwrad to some serious weight bring moved. What is the goal this time around?
Look at all that squat volume! Nice start to TM man looking forwrad to some serious weight bring moved. What is the goal this time around?
Thanks dude!
The goal?
Fortune and glory!
Yes I just watched Temple of Doom (mrswoody got me blu Ray set with all Indy films. Winning)
Goal is some serious strength and size gains. Going to eat like a mofo and lift hard and heavy to close out 2014. Not scared of a little fat gain, it comes off easy.
I want to squat 405 again, I want to rep 300+ on bench and hopefully get to pulling 500 deads on the reg as long as my SI joint is willing.
Also, 315 front squat
Great start to the new programming, good move building up a bit conservatively over time. May I ask any reason you choose to do your presses seated vs. standing? Basement height perhaps?
