I'm in san diego and interested as well. The only gym i go to is the chuze in santee, which has basically no power lifting equipment, but it is cheap, close, and usually not crowded.

well shiit, id like to talk to this coachdeez then ahaha
nope, none of those places are near me lolz
nearest is about 20 miles from me
20 miles really? The closest powerlifting gym to me is 50 miles.
edit: 40 miles
World Gym in Vista is good. They are PL friendly and I'm pretty sure they have a monolift and a viking press...not sure what else though. I talked to the guy who runs Warrior Weightroom in Carlsbad recently...he seems pretty cool but I guess they are restructuring right now or something. Either way, he pretty much said that I can't come train out there right now. The World Gym in PB has a PL team that trains out of there. I think Kegrice's Gym in Imperial Beach shut down because I can't seem to contact anybody. I train at the 24 Hour Fitness in Rancho Bernardo. It's not an ideal training environment, but the general manager doesn't care if I get chalk and baby powder everywhere or if I drop weights/grunt/make noise as long as I clean up after myself and I'm respectful to other members. If you're interested in doing some strongman as well, hit me up. I'm working on getting a crew together. We have three consistent guys plus a few more who come and go as they please. Next month I'm going to be moving down to Kearny Mesa and I'll have a decent area right there where we can train.
Deez is here to save the day.

Just one, but like most commercial gyms no one really uses it. I've never had to wait more than five minutes for it to become available. The free weights are back in a dungeon-like corner by the men's locker room and all the machines and cardio equipment are upstairs, so a lot of the people who don't know what they are doing just go upstairs and leave the free weights alone. Plus, the PQ gym down the street has courts, a pool, and steam rooms so most people that are looking for a "nice" gym go there instead. This place really is one of the best kept secrets. Well, not any more.

Maybe I'll come check it out one day. I'm at the 4S Ranch LA Fitness. One real power rack, and two unadjustable squat racks. Could be worse I guess. We need to open up our own REAL gym around here!

I've heard that LA Fitness out there is where a lot of the Padres and Chargers go to lift, so I figured it couldn't be half bad. But yeah, I agree that we need a real gym around here.

Frees gym San Marcos. Very old school and historical location. If you find it it's heaven. If you can't you're outside the circle. Good luck..
