Do you cycle creatine?
Just curious since I just used up the gainer I was on and have none I planned on taking a couple weeks off but I was only on it for a month.
if you do how long are you on it/ off it?
thinking about just buying size on and keep on trucking. I've gained about 17lbs since Ive started getting serious so far
-
There's no reason to "cycle" creatine. That was a concept that supplement companies used to create a psychological link in consumers' minds between creatine and steroids, in an attempt to make them think they're getting something similar to the worthwhile stuff. There's no backing of that concept.

Just trying to get some info, thanks!

i dont steadily use it... if i use it everyday it doesnt effect me, but if i use it every few days i get better effects and chance to turn the water weight into something.... thats how i do it and it works for the most part

i did find this
Q: Do I need to Cycle Creatine?
A: My recommendation is to load for 5 days, followed by a 5-10 gram maintenance dosage for 4-6 weeks. Following this, there are two particular strategies:
1. You can take one to two weeks off and then start the cycle over. Many athletes attest to receiving a better results this way.
2. However, several athletes will never come off of it. They will load it for 5 days, maintain for a few weeks and then reload again. This is increasingly becoming the more popular method of usage.

but what about non workout days, i guess you need to take it as well on these days!
-
I do, usually 2 months on and 1 month off. May go longer when I am only using creatine on workout days.
-
I take it only on training days. It's a form of "microcycling." Most of the current research appears to support this indirectly regarding creatine turnover rates and transporter expression.
-
I, much like des only use it on workout days. Thus, I rarely take "weeks" off. Size-on or something else on training days is all you need.

Typically SizeON. I'm four weeks out from a competition so I'm taking only 2.5 grams of creatine monohydrate presently.
-
I usually do 5 grams a day for 40-50 days and then take 2-3 weeks off. Been getting steady gains from this method. Get some cheap mono like prolab creatine mono. They sell 20 five gram servings for $2.99. I use that and throw some Supp direct Beta-alanine in the mix and get great strength and mass gains. Cheap, bulk stacks FTW!

I've been on it for several years, only taking breaks before bloodwork / physicals and when doctors request it. No complaints here. I use Green MAGnitude for the most part, and Green BULGE when traveling.
Good luck !
-
I don't cycle it, I only take a break at the end of my competitive season, when I take a month off all supplements.

Yeah, I'd say I've been on for well over five years now. All blood work has always come back normal.
-
Ive used Green Mag for 4+ months straight, so no.

So when taking Size-On, you don't take a dose before bed on off days? Just curious...

what game son?
-
I have read somewhere and if I find it again Ill post the link to the study, but the study stated that the loading phase depletes your bodies natural production of creatine. It said that it should be taken 3-7 grams per day depending on bodyweight. Dont know really how much there is behind that, but it was a published study so I will do some searching and see if I can find it again.
