Will Jay compete at 2014 Mr Olympia?

Who knows , personally I dont think jay has a chance at the title again
After watching the NPC interview, where he admits even if he trained all year he wouldn't beat the top 5 guys, I'd say he's done

This.
I think he will walk away. I hope he does.
why? for what point?
he will gracefully walk away....

This
He gained a lot of respect this year, should now go out on a high. Not going to get any better than this
I think he might do the Arnold, I think he was a little hard on him self in the interview and I think if he had more prep time he could of brought a better more competitive package for the o. Kai and phill haven't improved drastically since 09 IMHO but they have improved.
I'd love to see Jay retire at the AC...with a win hopefully!
Jay wont retire this year or even next year in my opnion.
He loves the birght lights, the star image, the shine and flair, and of course, the money.
Dont get me the wrong way... i love this guy personalety.
But at the end of the day, jay might be the biggest ifbb pro Bodybuilder business man there is or even ever was...
Ronnie got smarter just at the end of his career and lunched his own supp company, same goes to lee labrada and rich gaspari...
Arnold lunched it 40 years or so after his done.
Jay did it NOW! while still competeting.
It might not be HIS company, but he will want to "PUSH" it to us... the amature bb's so he'll get his name and legacy on the wall of fame as the top dog, and also, more $$$$
Thats jay...

wtf did i just read.
I'd be quite surprised if Jay decided to compete at the 2014 Olympia.
He did poorly the 1st day, but the 2nd day he was 4th, ahead of Rhoden and Dex. He said he only trained 10 weeks for the Olympia, which is nothing really. I'm not saying that he will win it again, but if he were to go at it again and show up in good condition with previous size, he would get top 3. I don't see Dennis Wolf improving his physique, best he can do is come in conditioned, so that 3rd spot could be Jay's next time.....
Love Jay. Was pulling harder for him this show than anyone. After seeing his physique I think his best days are behind him. I think competing after this show wouldn't be the smartest move.
I think he will. If for anything, he'll do it for the fans and then for money.... In that order. All those sponsors will dry up quick if he's not competing. He can hype an Olympia like no other. With all those vids and pics he posted leading up to the O, he had all kinds of people wondering if he could pull it off.

Jay even said himself that the top 3 were beyond him even if he showed up with what he thought would be his best. The top 3 are also a lot younger and can make improvements whereas Jay is starting to go down the hill on the other side.
As for the post above, the money that Jay makes competing is dwarfed by the revenues from his endorsements, sponsorship and merchandising. This Olympia was as much about competing again without a torn biceps as it was about promoting himself. He'd have won the Mr O if it was judged on pre-competition publicity, and that's where his strength lies now - his legacy and image.
I think he made a lot of fans with this effort. Not only by competing after that layoff but with his media work (documentaries, interviews etc) and his personality. He will only compete again if it makes financial sense.

I hope not.
In retrospect, he should have retired after his incredible 2009 showing.
But Jay is a fighter and give him credit for trying again.
The other thing one must keep in mind is his lat. He wasn't even able to do a lat spread. Injury?
If he takes it as seriously as when he was up against Coleman, he can win the title again because of his reputation

Not going to happen
I'd like to see him train for a full year, gain size, comeback at the 2014 Mr. O and see what happens. If he gets big again and comes in with the same condition, who knows what can happen? I thought he looked pretty good on Saturday.
But I don't think he's hungry enough. He's got 4 titles, he knows he has no shot at tying Ronnie and Lee, so I don't know if he's got what it takes to go up against Phil, Kai nd the rest of those guys.

So you post a picture of Jay when he's about to hit the rear lat spread (you can tell by his shoulders and arms he's not hitting the pose yet).
What's your point?
Why would he? His back is as bad as Branch's back and he wouldn't make top 5 anyway. Jay should retire and focus on his supplement company and other businesses that he owns.

Will post more soon, but did you watch the show? That was as good as it got! He couldn't spread his left lat!!!
He's probably just going to focus on the business side, would be a bad move to announce his retirement right now.

Never been a Jay fan, never will be a Jay fan. As a matter of fact, Ronnie should've won in '06.
But I still think he could look much better if he had a full year of training, eating and therapy.
He should even look into training with Charles Glass.
But if he retires, good for him. Ain't no one knocking down Phil, anyway.

For a better showing with a whole year's offseason? Why does Dexter still compete? He does it for fun and money. Nothing wrong with Jay doing the same, but as a fan i think there's nothing left for him to do in the sport. I'd say give it one more go with a full offseason

No, he's hitting it. That's how he looked this year. He hasn't gotten all his muscle back yet.

Dexter Jackson does it for fun and money, but he did win this year's Arnold and the last 2 Master's O. It's not like he competes for the hell of it.
But Dexter has been able to avoid major injuries, it seems, while Jay hasn't, so.
