Best Workout Underwear
Someone please give me ideas on this. I am tired of wasting money on crappy workout underwear that never stretches with me or is simply uncomfortable. I would love to find something comfy sans panty lines that is preferrable NOT a thong. I tried some boy short things but all they did was ride up my legs the whole time. Maybe it was the material? Ideas anyone?

I've gotta say, I always prefer a thong. I wear boy shorts sometimes in sports when it's cold out because my bum always gets cold lol, but I generally always a prefer a well fitting thong. If it fits well, no front wedgies, and in general no riding up ever. I used to hate them, but started wearing them because they were my boyfriend's favorite (of 4 1/2 years now) and now I'm hooked. I rarely wear anything else now, including when working out.

You wear underwear when you workout?

lol exactly
If you happen to want to run in shorts that are kind of baggy, you could always put some leggings underneath them. I know in high school I used to have some shorts that were shorter but the legs were too big. No option for commando there, Id just put running shorts or leggings underneath them.

Maybe Im just too much younger than you, but I dont know a single female who WANTS anyone else, woman or man, to see their panty lines. My friend base covers a wide variety of ages too though, so maybe the difference in our ages just doesnt matter there.
You are annoying me. I've seen you comment on two topics in the Fem boards and its been snide or just plain rude. I dont know why your panties are in such a wad, but do me a favor and untwist those suckers.

i just said that...and other women are the only ones who notice this crap..
there is not a man on this board who sees a hot chick wearing boy shorts under her stretch pants and sees panty lines and goes...
"aw man look at that chick what a loser..you can see her panty lines..i'd never date or bang that chick"..

with you on this one.....I had no idea so many women went without underwear. I too thought it was just to tease a man (in a good, flirty way), sexy as heck deal....I'll have to be more aware, and talk to my wife. :)

^^Same. This dude seems to have a chip on his shoulder about women. The only reason he is here is to be negative, so go the hell back to the Men's Section or STFU.
Its not just pantylines, its uncomfortable. Who the hell wants to be squatting and have their underwear trying to creep up their butt? Also, men may not know this, but alot of women's workout pants are designed to be worn WITHOUT underwear.

This is why I wear thongs...it's already up there hahaha :D. I only wear pants on lifting days though, and I wear short soccer shorts when running or doing cardio, and that's just a flashing waiting to happen without underwear.

I do wear underwear ..it depends ..on the pants that I wear or how I'm feeling that day
boyshorts ..thongs...(nothing lacy that would give me a rash) ...
I've only gone commando once or twice ..but that was in the privacy of my own home LOL

Not quite. Take a look at high school for instance (the most extreme example) - some of the chickes wear thongs so you can either a) see the lines from it or b) see the damn strings pokin out the back at the top. Same deal withother various styles of underwear.
Sometimes they do want you to know. Or the chicks you see out at a bar wearing painted on jeans and YOU KNOW that without seeing any lines, they couldnt possibly be wearing anything.
And there are actually plenty of guys who notice wether someone is, isnt or what type they are wearing.
Besides those points - when you have underwear lines, it typically isnt comfortable at all. It more or less means that the panties arent sitting in the right spot (they shouldnt make lines if they are situated on the correct spot), panties dont fit correctly, the edging of the material is too thick, or the outer clothing is too tight not the right cut to go with the particular panty. This can all be fixed with underwear that dont have an actual seam (aka pantyline) of various cuts depending on body type.
Maybe you just learned something. But I doubt it.

Hanes sport are nice (don't ride up), but there would probably be a vpl especially in yoga pants or something equally clingy. VS sells some seamless panties that are nice, if you're looking for something other than a thong.
On the topic of going commando, I can't help but think about the time I was using the stationary bike and a middle aged gentleman decided to use the chest press machine directly accross from me. I glance down at my phone for a few mins and when I glance back up all I see is the guy's junk hanging out his shorts! He wore loose jersey knit shorts and no drawers! Surely he had to have felt a breeze. Totally off topic, but also a good warning...wear tight fitting bottoms when going commando!
-
underwear?? no way. only in jeans.
-
I wear my Victorias Secret cotton bikini. If the panty fits well, it doesnt ride up. As for VPL, if it's well fitting and the seams arent too thick there will be a very subtle line and thats it. It's not at all visible unless someone is staring at my ass closely.
I don't like the idea of wearing workout pants without underwear.
-
Good ideas so far. Alas, thong seems to be the overall favorite. I don't like going commando at the gym personally unless I'm wearing pants. I wear shorts a lot and it seems a little to, um, chilly, to do that. Not to mention all the moving around and bending I might do. Wouldn't really want to show that much skin, lol.
Are there athletic type thongs out there that are super comfy?
-
First, I didn't know there was such a thing as "workout underwear". I just wear my cotton briefs. Regular underwear. I use to wear biker's "skins" when I use ride my roadbike because they had the "Y" crotch so that there wasn't seans or anything to chaffe while sitting in the saddle. Can't go to the gym without undies. I did go sans underwear (years ago) just so I could wear a pair of jeans. I was so excited that I lost weight, I couldn't wait to lose 5 more lbs so that I could wear underwear and I just went commando!
-
as far an underwear, thongs are it for me. i would recommend the vs cotton lacie thong---i know it has lace, but it's cotton and very comfortable and it does not leave any lines anywhere. i could not imagine NOT wearing underwear to the gym. that is getting a little too close to people when sharing exercise equipment....lol. plus the sweat factor---i just need something inbetween me and my shorts!
-
Girl yeah. These men leave enough "presents" on the equipment. Can you imagine if they weren't wearing underwear? I think the most comfortable undergarment I've worn while playing sports has been the "skins" that cyclists usually year. They are the lenght of bicyle shorts so they cut off at your thighs. I wear cargo type shorts so you'll never see them and they keep my thighs warm.
-
No damn way I'm wearin' any to work out! And I LOVE IT.
And in terms of "teasing", I highly doubt those of us who wear none even think about that...I just don't wear it very much!
-
strong bump, just because thongs are one of the greatest inventions ever. =D
-
What about compression shorts..I like the one's by Nike!
-

May be true. But not for working out. I don't wear any while I"m exercising.
-
Thanks for changing my whole outlook of women at the gym...Now I'm going to wonder if her or her is wearing underwear or not. New thought process-She's cute, does she have ring on, wonder if she is wearing underwear?
-
In the stores I saw underarmor selling workout underwear for women. They have thongs and boyshorts. Anyone tried them and are they worth it?
-

oh i see. some like em' and some dont like em'. =D
-
Well I used to never wear panties but it definitely depends on the type short/pants I wear now. There are a lot of cute shorts for the gym that don't have built in crotch/panty and you will CHAFE your hoo ha without the right panties if you are trying to do cardio!
I tried the Nike boy short....it is okay BUT if you have muscular thighs=sorry it rides up. Plus I don't really care for feeling compressed. I am not big and I don't like having anything that friggin snug on when I am training.
So far, a thong that fits perfectly when panties are necessary works best. Otherwise, crotch rides up during cardio and makes me annoyed.
