If you want to know more you could go dig up some stuff by Layne Norton, he's a highly regarded nutritionist with a PhD which is in Nutritional Science (I think that is the subject, I could be wrong on that but he does have a PhD in the field). He has a youtube channel and he has talked about BCAAs on there, he advocates the use of them for certain people, there are other equally qualified people who disagree with him (Alan Aragon), but if you want to hear the arguments for them then go read/watch stuff by Layne.
Thanks man I'll take a look, I've seen Layne Norton mentioned a few times about the place but didn't really know who he was or what he did.
damn good job man.
Down 24 lbs already. A lot of it is going to be water weight but still, that is impressive as hell.
Bet your knees and back are thanking you.
yes sir. i feel fantastic. fitting in smaller clothes, able to walk further distance without feeling like someone is ripping the breath out of my chest. I'm starting to see differences. And that just keeps me going at it even harder. Soon I'll post some pics.

I've found everything I've read by Norton to be extremely informative and helpful. Highly recommend any of his articles/books.

I'm quite looking forward too being able to go clothes shopping and not have so much trouble finding clothes. I'm about a 38"-40" size jeans at the moment and hoping to be able to fit 34" or even 36"

Starting to look leaner already around the chesticles and legs but still have lots of that dreaded belly and lower back fat.

Anyone else mirin' the Bodies of Work Volume 1? (Contains nudity, like that's a bad thing)
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/bodies-of-work.html
Seeing works of art like that makes me want work harder at this. I want Jenn Jewell's body, not literally, i want a similar physique lol. :p
Side note: Doing daily 10 min walk to the bank + -35 C. temps = Pep-in-yo-step

With a 34"-35" inseam it is tough to find jeans that fit unless I order them online. It seams like once I get to a 38/34 they will be easier to find. I am not out to get shredded, but I wouldn't mind a 36 to small 38 so there are more clothing options and I can still eat a little bit.

I'm starting to have my abs poke through! Haven't seen them in a years hello abs! Still got a lot of fat to loose but that is motivating!

PSMF Day 02
Day 01: 205.6#
Day 02: 204.2#
For as low calorie as PSMFs are, I'm surprisingly not hungry at all.
It must be from the large of amount of lean protein and vegetables. Still pretty satisfying on around 1200 calories per day give or take.
Then again, the easy part is just beginning and the real challenge will begin in the next few days. I know that much.
Just waiting for the carbs to leave my system and then the real challenge begins.
Going to take it slow one day at a time and not let myself get overwhelmed.
Biggest problem I've had to deal with in the past. Deep breaths and one meal at a time.
Your roughly the same height as me, what is your goal weight? At our height/build im not sure if a 32" could be possible?
I have a pretty broad frame and carry weight pretty well. My goal weigh is around 225 (still considered overweight), and then I will re-evaluate to see how much lower I want to go, if any. I still want to be able to eat.
In high school, I use to jump between 185 and 240 for different sports. At 185, I wore some 32 waist jeans and at 240 I wore 38. 185 was honestly too skinny for my height and build (I had a decent amount of muscle, but looked tall and fairly skinny). I think my ideal weight would be somewhere between 200 and 210.

As if I did t have enough motivation to lose weight already, my buddy just asked me to be his best man at his wedding in 12 weeks. Let the craziness begin!!

Went clothes shopping yesterday. Sadly, found hardly anything in stores. Most places stopped just one single size before what I needed in pants and shirts. After all the hard work I've put in, and the 40ishlbs I've dropped since starting my journey it was kind of depressing. So, today I used that for motivation and worked the hardest I've ever worked in my whole life in the gym doing my cardio... I will succeed as everyone else on here. Today I told my mind to shut up, and my butt to hurry and fit in smaller clothes :-)

Good.
Just remember, this is a slow process. It takes a while. Don't get down on yourself . It's too early yet.

yeah, i know. Didn't get fat over night, won't get skinny overnight. Just wanna be able to buy a pair of pants at a normal store (not wal mart, etc) for the first time in like 10 years. Then, I'll be a happy camper. I am wearing American Eagle pants now.. been 6 years since i've worn them. Have one pair of Old Navy pants in the closet that are one size smaller. Hope to fit them by end of Feb.

Can totally Thrill of fitting in to an old or smaller jean makes the painful sacrifices totally worth it. I just bought 2 AE jeans that are 4 inches smaller and some body fit tees as motivation+ reward. Lets power through this!!

yes sir! It totally is! I tried the pants on as a joke, just having a good time with the wife. I bet the face I made when they actually fit was priceless. Best feeling ever.

5 minutes, 2 sets of lunges/calf raises. No weights, just body weight. Crazy how much of a burn you can give yourself without a gym.

AMEN! I have a fireplace, and on days I can't make it to the gym I do step ups on the front of the fire place. after just a few minutes i'm out of breath. Sometimes, body weight workouts are tougher than a day at the gym. if done properly of course, I"d say.

Speaking of clothes - I need to figure out when to take my suits in to be tailored. I think I'm gonna wait until I'm loosing less weight per week. But I look like a gangsta in some of my baggy pants haha.
