They are good. I don't see why not. If you feel that burn then it is taking effect.

I cannot answer that question as everyone is different. I would stick with a weight that maxes you out anywhere in between 15 and 35 reps. Work your way up slowly until you hit a comfortable rep range you can do.

We're all different, no one can tell what's the "usual" weight for you other than yourself.

Different people like different rep ranges. Try for yourself and see what suits you.
You could hold any kind of weight, be it dumbbells, barbell, water jugs, and it will work just fine. It's about resistance; not what kind of resistance, but just that there is resistance.

"Feeling the burn" has no relevance to building muscle. I could perform 200 dumbell curls with a mug and get a burn, would i get huge biceps? No.
I can't do them because I lose my balance.
Yea they are good. Make sure you work calfs in a high rep range typically 15 reps

For how many sets?
If your gym has a smith machine, get a block of wood and put it under the bar. Stand on the wood on the balls of your feet. I find that it's MUCH easier to balance when doing them on a smith. That is the only thing I think a smith is good for. That and having a rack on the back to put weights on :D

I did not recommend 200 reps and I doubt your biceps would feel any type of burn. I admit feeling a "burn" isn't a very scientific way of determining how effective a workout is, but is was just a general guideline.

Instead, give some full advice, not half. Me saying 200 reps using a "mug" would give a burn has no relevance to you not recommending it, I could have said 300, 400, 500 reps and you would have said the same. Attempting to turn bad advice around doesn't work, also, if it was a very large mug, it would, srs.
