and what?
if they had access to the drugs in 70/80's, they would have looked the same. Stick the the fitness olympia if youve got a dick up your ars
Exactly.
I wonder if golden era fanboys realize that the old time pros were considered genuine freaks in their time.
Perhaps even more so than today's pros, because bodybuilding wasn't nearly as mainstream back then as it is today.
No.
There would be hundreds of people qualifying for Mr. Olympia then.
watch documentaries on BBing...many people that have been in the industry for 30-40 years and BBing pros all predict it will shift towards the old school look at some point. Besides if they get judges that further evaluate muscle symmetry and overall balance more critically it would allow the older physique to come back.
BBing wasnt about size originally, it was about the art of the body...current bbers are massive and unattractive to look at. Most of us are just in awe and blown away by them. Contradictory to what it was ment to be in a sense.
Where drugs are a given in pro BBing it should be more about knowing how to properly take them to attain specific size for each muscle group to attain perfect balance. Instead of what it is currently. Throw as much sh*t into your body to get as big and bulbous as possible.
Big Ramy probably can't walk up a flight of stairs, give me a break. 70's/80's era was so much more athletic-looking, these 300lb freaks with their massive HGH guts look ridiculous.
They aren't judged on their cardio, they are judged by their muscularity. They look like swimmers at best next to Big Ramy. Also he has a small waist relatively to his huge body, aesthetic look. Bodybuilders from the 70s had small legs, not proportionate to the rest of their body.

I think that Ramy and Cedric is the future of bodybuilding ie small tapered waistline combined with a good amount of mass.
In the 70s, the top pros were the most muscular people in the world, same as today. People value what is rare and uncommon and difficult to achieve. Being 280 pounds of muscle is very rare and uncommon, same as how it was really rare to be 220 pounds in the 70s.
I don't really understand why people keep saying "big and bulbous" or chit like that about Ramy. Ramy does have shape. I am an artist myself and I can tell what symmetry and proportion is and Ramy is doing well on those counts. What makes you think Ramy has really bad shape? What is your evaluation which leads you conclude that? What bodyparts of him would you prefer to be larger or smaller to make him more proportionate?
Pay attention to the word "proportion". Anything, whether big or small, gigantic or miniscule, may or may not be in proportion. Being smaller does not really mean you have good proportion nor does being larger mean you have bad proportion.
And as for "art of the body", art is a personal decision. Kai Greene is a good artist in his own right and if his ideal physique is 300 pounds of shredded muscle, then who are we to deny his definition of ideal? You may call him a drug addicted, bloated freak show idiot, but he may very well call you an idiot as well.
Who decides that your opinion of an artistic and impressive physique is the right one, not someone else's?

He's already better than Heath if he hits his conditioning.
I hope to God he's actually learned English though.

how long would it take to get that big natty with a perfect diet?
how long would it take to get that big natty with a perfect diet?
At least 1-2 years of solid training.

Most of those "fanboys" also don't understand that there are literally thousands of guys with that "golden age" physique... It is no longer an elite level... It would be so difficult to discern between who was the best at that level because there are so many guys right at that same level
I respect the heck out of the old school guys, but give Ramy his due... the guy is a monster, very impressive, nearly inhuman physique
-
Can he speak English yet?
Kinda think it's holding him back in the sport
-
Poor guy will be dead long before 50
didnt know you were his doctor

lol there is a difference between vanity and being the best in the world at your craft

At that level, it is merely who is juicing the most and who responds best to the juice.
There is no "craft".
You think he has some secret lifting or dieting strategy that differentiates him from everyone else?
This is a prime example of why bodybuilding will never be a sport, and outside of it's obscure audience it will be seen as a freak show.
