Starting my second week of another 5x5 so squats, flat bench, rows, and weighted sit ups for me. Yummy!
EDIT: Also not crew but responded anyway. ;)
Not crew but did pulls last night in my basement. Not sure of the temp but I could see my breath by the time I was done.

how much are you pulling these days?
Its full body time for me starting with legs and finishing with abs. The gym is a nice comfortable 68 degrees :D you need a finished basement or one of these Then on shoulder or back day you can split wood for a warm up.

5x5 works great. I just finished that for 3 months, so right now I'm upping to 8 reps for a month and then going back.
I haven't done pulls since my son was born a month and a hlaf ago so I only went up to 405. Got to get back into it.
Dang yer a strong dude. I can only do 365 x 3, from just below knees.
I was bummed I saw spotts when I tryyed pulling my max but I had not done it in about 2 month so it was not that bad.
Wassup slut?
I'm doing 5x5 too. I'm just kinds ad libbing my workout right now, until March. Then I'm going to start a full body wo for a change up. That should make me puke enough!
Today is upper.

Home Gym Gear Sluts :D
Question for Hardcore when he shows his mug ...
Remember that band I hooked up to my rack for deloading BP? Well after 6 weeks the results are in...
My flat bench went from 225x3 to 225x6 clean reps.
I only deloaded on my last 2 sets with 275 for 1 or 2 reps.
Since you are a powerlifter....do you think I could've gotten the same results just using 255 unassisted?
In other words I'm not sure if deloading worked or hitting close to my max every week did. :o
I'd rather not have to screw with setting up the band if I don't need to.

Duh.
I'm an idiot.
deloading. It put more stress on the nervous system and the increased weight on the stabilizer muscles. It also did more work for your triceps by adding reps you would not have done before because it was not getting off your chest. If you were maxing out that many weeks you would probably burn out. What size band were you using?
The light(purple) band from EliteFTS. It's hard to know exactly but I'm guessing it took 25-30 lbs off the bottom of the movement. Disregard the safeties in this pic, they are still set up for squat.

Yea thats about right. I use the preform better bands. They use the size rather than color.
what up boys?
i'm off today.
i'm starting jim wendler's 5/3/1 tomorrow. just finished with 5x5, that's my favorite program so far. i wanted to try something else, i like simple plans so i don't have to think much about it. i like to plug my maxes into a spreadsheet and just know where i'm going.
i found pl meets in march and june, i'm gonna do one, maybe both of them. i need something to do, and having a goal to work towards will be better for me. i sometimes feel like i'm not working myself hard enough in the gym.

I'm doing the same thing except i take out sit-ups and put a tricep exercise for 3 sets 5-8 reps, i normally do skull crushers or CGBP. this new 5x5 routine is giving me some great strength results and I'm really proud of it, i haven't worked out in a week because of a bad cold, but I'll see how well i can do.
Doing a volume-day today, bench and squats 5x5 straight across followed by some chins, then rowing at the end...

I love the 5x5 across, its great, lots of volume, but I can only do it once a week. I do the 5x5, then recovery day, then pr day as my work-out week. Its a lot faster time-wise than 3x5 or 5x5 every work day.
Good for you on the meets, its really fun.

i've been wanting to compete for a few years, and i always talk about it but haven't actually done it. i was looking for meets yesterday, and my wife told me to shut up and do it. so i figure if i start a log here and tell my friends (all 3 of them), i'll kinda be held to it.

Been working very well for me too! By far my favorite program to date. Check out the log for results.
Animalfan - I'm also looking to attend my first meet in March. Pretty pumped about it actually. :)
