stiff neck wont go away
no idea what caused it. ive been sleeping the same way for awhile. i helped my sister move some stuff the other week so that might be why.
but for the past week and a half ive had a pain/cramp in my neck that wont go away and seems to be getting worse. whenever i stretch out the muscle...that is look down, left or right, i cant go very far and it hurts. i can look up, but im assuming because im not pulling on the muscles.
anyone have any ideas what i could do to help aid in recovery? i stretch my neck out as often as possible but it doesnt seem to help too much.

went to the docs today because the pain is progress. upper lats, both sides are stiff as hell.
sleep with no pillow, ice it after a hot shower. also perscribed some muscle relaxer for bed.
no gym for a week :(

Hope it gets better for you soon.

Ouch, I know what that can be like. Every once in a blue moon, I'll stretch while still in bed in the morning and get a cramp in my neck/trap, it hurts like hell and the pain lasts for days.
Up your water and potassium intake maybe, in addition to everything else?
I hate muscle relaxers, they make you feel like a rubber hand and dry your mouth out. And when you stop taking them, you should do it gradually, not cold turkey, or your muscles might start to twitch and cramp again after being suppressed so long.

yer, I got that months ago, but have not had a stiff neck/traps for a while now (touch wood). I would say just keep stretching your neck lightly, and run hot/cold water over it. Also, try a chiropracter/osteopath if it fails to improve.
