Just added 80 Lb dumbbells to my garage gym. I bought VTX at play it again sports and unfortunately they charge 59 cents a pound plus 8 percent tax so it ended up costing about 102 dollars. Cheaper than brand new but could have gotten a pair for 50 cents a lb with no tax if they would have ever showed up on craigslist. Hopefully I can find 90's and 100's soon on craigslist.

My home gym. Recently added new solid steel dumbbells. The racks need to be modified, but I will do that later. I try to mix the old with the new.
Here's my home gym, I've purchased all of the equipment based on reviews and recommendations from you guys, so thanks for your help.
I live in the UK and our garages are very small compared to the ones in America...

Hi medpilot,
I really like it, it's very smooth, much much smoother than the plate loaded cheap model that I had before.
For lat use you can get a really good stretch.
I'm 5 foot then and at full stretch the bar is about 4 inches away do I imagine anyone upto 6'3" or so would get a good stretch and full ROM.

No problem, I meant to say I'm 5 foot 10, not 5 foot 'then', apologies.
Wow, that place is huge! Looks like your other dumbbells are urethane?
All the dumbbells are solid steel. The newer ones are powder coated with stainless steel handles. 160s,140s,120s,and then 100 thru 30 in ten pound increments.

Hey Rock, What brand are those weight trees? They look solid.
-
RockCrshr, you've got a pretty decent gym there. ;)
How high are your ceilings? They seem to give your area a much larger feel.
Got a couple of $ because my G-P died a month ago. I didn't know what to do with it so I decided to start a home gym.
The gym is for my gf & me so it's normal that I have a couple light weights in the pictures. She's a marathon runner so that's why we have a nice/new treadmill
Treadmill approx 1600$
Power rack 300$
Olympic kit 2x45 2x35 2x25 4x10 4x5 2x2.5 + the 7' bar for 280$
Swiss ball, jumping rope 20$
10lbs and 45 lbs kettle bell got both for 50$ on kijiji
Set of adjustable dumbbell 5 to 25 lbs for 40 on kijiji
Other set of cheap dumbbell (color) got it from the garbage.....
I already had my bike and the roll
Carpet 20$ for 6 scare x2
That's the setup of what I got today.

Everything was bought from a store near Montreal that make their own custom power rack etc. No tax, lifetime warranty.
I still have a two month membership at my gym so I still have time to buy a good bench.
I'm also going to someone's place tomorrow to look at a set of 35's, 40's and 45' (dumbbell) (kijiji) for approx 0.75$/pound. I also found a crunch bench for 30$.
What do you thing of my starter kit? and i know my futon is ugly.
Finally found one of the missing pieces

Yeah...awesome space.
-
Thanks guys. It is just for home use. 99 percent of everything in the gym is used, that I got from Ebay, Craigslist, or auctions. Like most other guys with alot space and equipment I paid for most of it flipping equipment and putting in the time selling. I think I am going to sell the bigger BodyMasters unit to make space for a couple Hammer Strength machines.

the thing next to the leg press is a sissy squat. works pretty well :-D. works the quads and my glute floor pad works the hamstrings really well. great bodyweight stuff to go along with the leg curl extension bench !
the sauna room upstairs only has the sauna, rower machine, back inversion thing, small stepper machine, and precor stretch trainer. instead of the treadmill i will just go run, and ride my bike instead of my recumbent.

Dude, we're gonna see you on an episode of "Hoarders" one of these days, aren't we?
