Why does Obama pay a lower tax rate than me?
Thats pretty rediculous...smh
Why didn't Obama voluntarily send in an extra $100K to the IRS? After all, paying taxes is patriotic. Just ask Joe Biden.
That truly is the automatic STFU and know your place response to the selfish socialists - why don't YOU send in extra money to the IRS every year?

Obama and Congress are free to send in extra money to the IRS every year. As is Tim Geithner, you know, our Treasury Secretary that evaded taxes for 5 years. I promise you no one outside of their families will try to stop them from sending in those donation checks.

The "law of the land" very clearly allows for any citizen to write a check to the US Treasury, above and beyond their required tax payment :D

Buffett/Obama logic: tax the rich... just not me
Why are all of the liberals hiding from this thread?
Isn't obama trying to raise taxes for himself through the buffet rule?
Isn't obama trying to raise taxes for himself through the buffet rule?
Nope
Nope
:/ isn't the buffet rule going to raise taxes on him though? So that the fact the wants the buffet rule to go through means he wants to raise taxes on himself so that he doesn't pay a lower tax rate than his secretary?
Isn't obama trying to raise taxes for himself through the buffet rule?
Isn't Obama garnering future votes by using empty rhetoric about raising taxes on the wealthy?
Again, Obama can certainly send in the 30% equivalent tax rate in the form of a check to the IRS. He is free to donate that money. So is Buffett. Buffett can send in millions every year if he so desires. Pelosi can. Chuck Schumer can. Joe Biden can. Do any of them send in that money? No.
If they are supposed to lead, they can start leading by example. Voluntarily send in money so they are paying 30% federal tax. Until they do that, aware yourself that it's empty rhetoric. Part of a political playbook to get populist votes.

well it wouldn't be empty rhetoric if it passes because it would ACTUALLY raise taxes on Obama... right?
Lulz at people thinking that is all he made. I'd love to see just how much he pocketed and didn't report.
well it wouldn't be empty rhetoric if it passes because it would ACTUALLY raise taxes on Obama... right?
Has it passed yet? No. If he's advocating for it, why does he need it to force him to pay the extra money? Why not just pay it on your own?
Isn't obama trying to raise taxes for himself through the buffet rule?
Obama 2011 income: $790,000
Threshold for the faux "Buffet Rule": $1,000,000
See what he did there... :p
This isn't true. Obama paid more than his secretary. I believe Obamas % was 23.5 and his secretary was either 11 or 15 %. Will bring the article.
Yes. I am saying. Obama lied.
well it wouldn't be empty rhetoric if it passes because it would ACTUALLY raise taxes on Obama... right?
Don't hold your breath. Also, where is the bill to raise the taxes?
Why does Obama or any member of Congress need the law to force them to pay the higher taxes they claim they are for? Why not do so voluntarily? And again, where is the bill to be voted on to raise taxes on people making $1 million? That won't be voted on for at least another year. Don't you just love how the budget and people's livelihoods are hijacked by (all) presidential elections? Way to put duty ahead of personal gain, entire federal government.

He also gets alot more government handouts than the averge citizen, like paid _EVERYTHING_
ITT : Peasants complaining about taxes. LOL
So you guys agree that Obama should be paying less than his secretary, since he's a job creator? Since you're against the buffet rule, right?

Yes... yes he does.
So you guys agree that Obama should be paying less than his secretary, since he's a job creator?
He's a "job creator"...? Serious?
Oh... And the discussion has nothing to do with "job creation" as a criteria for tax rates anyway. This is about the hypocritical rich folks who demand higher taxes, but are unwillingly to actually pay those taxes themselves... Until forced to.
