then my working sets would be
12
10
8
6

hi am doing a routine similar to that with my m8 at the gym we do 8,6,4,2 goning up in wieght every set that we come down in reps then back up the reps and then lower the weight av went from stuck on 65kg bench for long enough to now benching 100kg in 4 weeks of heavy training so up 40kg on my bench am over the moon with my gains plus can ses the gains.
i actually used a routine extremely similar to that when i first started lifting, and i still use it some..iv seen decent gains from it in the past
try 10-8-5-2
ya but i dont go to failure on my 12 reps or 10 reps only 9- percent on 8 reps then 100 percent on 6 reps but i do two full pyramids
good results for me

i've done similiar with really good strength gains.we lowered the reps every week like this
week 1: 10,8,8,6
week 2: 8,8,6,4
week 3: 8,6,4,2
then repeat. it worked really good. everybody in are weight class at school was suppose to add 10 lbs to their 1 rep max every six weeks.most people who worked hard even people like me who weren't beginners made good gains.sometimes i even added more than 10 lbs.
If you want size and strength gains, I recommend the Bill Star 5x5 or Madcow.
I gained about 10 pounds in 2 months and my strength went up big time not to mention size as well.
I think you should read the Bill Star page and try it for 8-10 weeks.
