Shoulder injury ultrasound - what does it mean?
Hey guys - Got an ultrasound done on my shoulder today after hurting it in the gym last thursday.
Here's my results - Can anyone decipher them for me??
"The long head of the biceps tendon is seen within the bicipital groove. No abnomality of the biceps tendon demonstrated.
The subscrapularis appeared normal. There is minor thinning of the bursal surface of the mid fibres of the supraspinatus. No bunching seen with abduction. There is mild bursal thickening noted measuring up to 2.2mm. The infraspinatus and teres minor appeared normal.
Conclusion
Mild thinning of the mid fibres of the spurasinatus in keeping with the bursal surface tear of the supraspinatus.
Mild bursal thickening noted suggestive of bursitis."
I've read abour bursitis and it doesn't seem like a big deal, but is the supraspinatus = rotator cuff = surface tear??
