Mostly my fault since I do all these adjustments and additions to the recipes and never write em down, just add what seems right :p
I'm still trying to decide whether or not to bake cookies for my co-workers this year. I feel so lazy. On the other hand, the cookie dough is already made. I bought a bunch of different varieties from my nephew's school fundraiser. I just need to bake them and package them up. Maybe...

I picked up two oven mitts.
One with Rudolph, the other with bumble and both are filled with sugar cookie mix plus come with a cookie cutter that isn't a character from the show.
But I had to get them when I saw them.
Got the kids all weekend so I'll be watching that with the kids.
I played year without a Santa the first time for them last yr and they got into it after the shock of claymation wore off. Lol

Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph, Home Alone, and The Nightmare Before Christmas (tough guess who turned them onto that one ;) ) are on constant rotation.
I can't get them to watch A Christmas Story or Elf yet. Son of a Nutcracker!

Today I received a plate of sugar cookies, a plate of cranberry/white chocolate chip/nut cookies, a box of Frango-like chocolates, and some popcorn balls (these popcorn balls are 10/10).
I need to re-gift the chocolates and put the rest in the garbage disposal lest I have to get bigger pants.
Back in high school I'd a been chewing and spitting this stuff out. I used to think my mom was the Wicked Witch of the West for baking during wrestling season.
-
You mean, Santa Clause? No thx. I like to watch the Sound of Music though around Christmas. :o

i like the Sound of Music! :) should i croon a tune from it for everyone?
croon:
1: chiefly Scottish : bellow, boom
2: to sing or speak in a gentle murmuring manner; especially : to sing in a soft intimate manner adapted to amplifying systems
??? pick a definition, ppl!
I hope this means I will be traveling more next year!
Caprica, are you spending Christmas in Florida?
woot :)
not sure, Barb. i might be traveling back and forth through January, and then there's a very tiny chance that i'll be going to India in Feb... once again my xmas and new year's plans are undecided.
my cousin met a guy online in Oct. two months later they got engaged. very traditional, his family. the modern take on arranged marriage. the two parties find each other online or their parents and siblings find the person, then you have a very brief engagement period to preserve everyone's honor, lol. he comes from a very traditional family that still keeps women separate from the rest of the family during their TOM. they used to do that in my family when my mom was a young girl. i met the guy in Boston while he was there for a meeting and i liked him a lot. he's been over here a few times and he's working in the middle east right now. their wedding is scheduled for the end of Feb in India... i got word that two other cousins just got engaged as well. :)

i never gave that much thought before. must be so hard for all the athletes who compete w/in weight classes. you're saying this applied to you as well? there was a girl in one of our threads who needed to reach a certain weight for her powerlifting meet and i saw how that tormented her.
what about now?

First time I've been below 200 lbs. since late 2009. I attribute this to updating my log every day like a mental patient. My goals have changed since poking around these forums from just losing weight to lifting weights and being more fit and athletic. Even though I have a ways to go, I look a million times better and have been getting more respect in the workplace.
On that note, I am going to watch a marathon of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives tonight while eating bro chicken.

In the case of teens for sure. They have teenage taste-buds, teenage appetites, teenage discipline (with some exceptions), peer-pressure, less control over foods made available to them, less dieting experience/knowledge, unrealistic expectations (like they tend to believe "movie-star 60-day transformations for a particular role stories"). Also, once they do get lean they feel that 10% BF is fat and 14% obese, and that very low %BF levels are healthier than being low- to mid- teens %BF. Add having to weigh-in at 120 pounds or whatever once a week is just added icing on the cake.
Sure it's also an issue with adult weight class athletes (and obviously bbers), but not nearly so much.

it must be so much worse today. i didn't have to worry about how i looked in pictures every day/didn't have to seek approval as a teen through likes. i was an athlete through high school (no-one had to try out for our teams, lol), but i wasn't involved in any sports which had a weight requirement. i had body image issues. i'll find a pic - i was pretty healthy looking and lean but i was chubbier than others back then. i'm pretty sure one of my friends was taught to vomit by her in-shape mother, but other than that, i don't think i heard about eating disorders again until i was in college.* a friend observed that many of the students from Cali in her hall had some issue with eating. looking back, we were so innocent.
*there were stories about it in the media, and storylines involving EDs on tv, of course.

That's a very modern twist. With how traditional you say the family is, I'm surprised they allowed it. Indian weddings look like so much fun. A week long of celebrations, right? All the beautiful saris and jewelry.
Stay safe with your travels.

Haha, that's kinda random. Why did you think the cookies were from me? I don't think CSB would accept anything I would send him. He would probably be too scared to even open the package, lest it contain duck embryos, chicken feet, or some other weird filipino thing.

My goal is to pose as a high school student, and when I graduate in 2018 at age 35, get a division one football scholarship.
Actually, I guess just do 5Ks/10ks and focus on gaining muscle. When I first started I felt that same urgency as a lot of new posters to just get skinny as fast as possible, then ???, profit.
