Put socks on before underwear and wash your hands after touching feet. Also get rid of athlete's foot.
gold bond makes a medicated jock itch powder.
shave your balls

shave your balls and area around.. no problems since..
go to your running store and buy "body glide".. it looks like deoderant but u just rub it on anywhere that would chafe and it prevents chafing.. pretty common for distance runners
I don't know if jock itch is the same thing as chaffing but bodyglide worked like a charm for me when I was having that issue when running 3+ miles.

Cycling shorts
What worked for me: tinactin spray twice a day, gold bond + compression shorts for workouts. Cleared up in a week or two.
new underwear after working out and baby powder, I also only wear boxer briefs and let the boys breathe as often as I can
I have nice sexy pair of Nike spandex shorts I wear underneath my athletic shorts. Alleviates the problem well enough.

Jock itch is a result of constant chaffing. Prevent chaffing and you will prevent jock itch.

At work.. I"ve learn that anit-perspirant works wonders. Even with hot spots and blister on the feet. A lot cheaper too.
powder your nuts after taking a shower with baby powder and if you prefer, a couple times throughout the day.
Got 5 pairs of compression shorts one for each day of the week. and a large bottle of gold bond. Have not chaffed in a while
Shave your balls and go commando all the time. It's worked for me. Hell, it worked for me when I was ****ing hyooge.
spandex instead of underwear

I guess it depends what you need it for.. after running a marathon, i learned that the extra few bucks on the body glide was well worth it
i chafed literally everywhere that there was any friction, groin, thighs, toes, armpits, nipples, along the seam of my shorts, along the seam of my shirt around my neck. Showers were death for a couple days.. Anyways, since using body glide I havent had any problems with chafing at all. I definately recommend it
