Sad to hear this stuff. Art atwood, Luke wood, now Duvall.
The moral here is, watch your BP, eat clean year round, dont abuse stims or synthol, take your support sups, do your cardio, get your blood work done!
A lot more than that over the years, as you know. I'd love to see a complete list of all bbers fairly well known who have died before 50 y.o.
Some had health issues, and some, like Demayo, just lost the battle with the needle.
And many who haven't died had to drop out to save themselves.
I lurk a lot on the IFBB section here and you are BY FAR the worst poster. Honestly, every time you write something, you come off as a bigger and bigger a hole.
agreed. the kid is a fking retard.
Didnt Milos and some other guys admit that synthol use can cause a heart attack? He was obviously full of it... No disrespect, just pointing it out.
I bought a **** load of old muscle mags when they had the stores. I remember his 12 hour arm routine. Lol guess you gotta endorse that when your arms magically get 2 inches bigger and rounder in no time.

Perhaps out of respect for Mat and his family this can be discussed and debated in another thread?

RIP Matt. i met him a few times in the late 90's/ early 00's- he always seemed like a good guy and his shoulders were insane in person.
-
This fcking bums me out. I remember when he won the nationals 10 years go. Seems like yesterday. RIP.
-
RIP. Amazing physique and sounds like an all around nice guy.
-
His cousin stated the cause of death was a heart attack on his ******** page. He had just turned 40 on Halloween.
-
R.I.P
Did he have any kids?
-
that sucks...He seemed to be a great guy!!Our sport is 100% on the wrong way....
Hmmmm....compare to the 90's? I don't know about that.

With no disrespect to Mat Duvall.
The list of Pro's who have died of Heart Attacks and the like at that young of an age is no coincidence. Say what you will, but you abuse "The Tech" and you run the risk of some serious health issues.

-
RIP, very sad news. I remember always seeing his pics in the mags when I first got into bodybuilding.
-
RIP MD and condolences to his family.
those ads are absolutely some of the most memorable pictures in the sport all time.
I did the 12 hour Armageddon for 24 hours and gained 2 inches on my
vertical leap! Dat dere cell tech!!!!!

For those of you not acquainted with Matt, here's a really good interview to familiarize you with his bodybuilding accomplishments. He provides a detailed account of the expectations, and responsibilities he faced as a sponsored MuscleTech athlete, and top amateur. If you're considering competing, and have aspirations to pursue bodybuilding as a career, I suggest you listen to it!

the tech can be used safely.. whose to say any of those guys were having regular CBC panels done?
I was going to sip tech, thinking I was healthy at 25, turns out my cholesterol is a little high at 203, tech thickens the blood, probably not a wise idea atm ...
Also, yes it looks scary, but I wonder the genetic predisposition they had for increased risk of heart disease, if any? .. lot of unknown factors to immediately say it was the result of tech abuse... but i'm with you, it does appear .. strange nonetheless.
-
Whilst still too many and very sad, you guys should see the list of professional wrestlers that have died...it is HUGE. Abuse of any drug has the potential to kill, but I believe it is the pain killers and recreational stuff that are most dangerous.
-
Matt wrote some GREAT articles about his time training with Trevor Smith, if I can find a link I'll post it.
-
Wow, that's alot of assumptions.
Where the hell you see an assumption?
I believe Milos or Mike Mattarazzo said it, thats why I said "didnt" as in a question.
Matt wasnt oiled up?
Art atwood had a heart attack, I think Luke wood had a heart attack or kidney disease dont remember.
The ad thing was a joke...
The last statement was directed at them specifically. It was directed at any bodybuilder who wants to maintain cardiovascular health. I didnt say these guys did not do these things...
Where the **** are the assumptions.
