Yeah, I don't think he is serious.
I was on that for 2 weeks and didn't notice a change in anything really..
Are you talking about prednisone, the corticosteroid often prescribed for poison ivy?

i hope this isn't serious!!! but it will make you gain weight because it makes you hungry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I don't think he is serious.
USES OF THIS MEDICATION
Prednisone and prednisolone are members of the glucocorticoid class of hormones. This means they are steroids but, unlike the anabolic steroids that we hear about regarding sports medicine, these are "catabolic" steroids. Instead of building the body up, they are designed to break down stored resources (fats, sugars and proteins) so that they may be used as fuels in times of stress. Cortisone would be an example of a related hormone with which most people are familiar. Glucocorticoids hormones are produced naturally by the adrenal glands.
We do not use the glucocorticoids for their influences on glucose and protein metabolism; we use them because they are also the most broadly anti-inflammatory
Prednisone is a cortical steroid used to treat asthma. Dom't see how it could benifit bodybuilding.
comes in 5mg and 10mg ive been on it since im 9yrs old for very severe asthma ..dont play with it ,just makes u fat ..i take 100 mg shot of cyp a week mostly due to what pred has done to me ..very low test..among others..
It is the opposite of what you want. It will make you gain water weight, a lot of acne, and is CATABOLIC (this means it eats muscle, for someone dumb enough to ask this question). Plus when you stop you will have withdrawal symptoms you do not want.
I took is prescribed for a back injury for a week. It was to let the muscles around the injury area heal up. Didn't notice any weight change or composition.
Unlike some people here I know you are talking about Prednisolone which is a steroid. I think i'm probably best placed to tell you anything about it as I was prescribed it for liver disease for about a year so i'm speaking purely from personal experience, nothing i've "heard" or looked up on the internet, this is what I experienced on the drug : Firstly and most importantly my liver started to heal and i started to feel a lot less ill very quickly but i doubt you guys are interested in that :P. This thing gives you a ton of energy to the point where on the first week of using it i barely slept- and still felt fine. It also gives you a raging apetite, like incredible. My first night on it i tried to get to sleep for an hour or so then woke up, tidied the whole house, did pull ups and ate half a loaf of bread, a curry (for 3) and a smoked mackerel. It also enhances your mood, i felt like a king, full of confidence and generally elated. I wasnt a serious gym-goer at this point but i also got insane urges for exercise (hence the pull ups) and occasionally throughout the day i would just drop and bust out as many press ups as i could. My weight also shot up at this time, but i'd already lost 2 stone through illness so i hardly looked like a juicer :P. All in all you can see how this drug would benefit bodybuilding but I really wouldn't encourage anyone to use it for this purpose. It is a medical drug. Using steroids is cheating.

tl;dr
Prednisolone is a steroid used primarily to treat asthma /Bronchitis, It is a cortical steroid.
It is an anti-inflammatory drug which is normally administered in high dose over a short period ie.40mg for 5days, long term use degrades bone density.
There is no weight gain or any bodybuilding benefit associated with Prednisolone except maybe the anti-inflammatory properties.
I've been on it before for allergies (Prednisolone is a version of Prednisone, which is commonly prescribed to reduce swelling). It is a corticosteroid, so it raises cortisol and basically is bad for muscle building. On the other hand, it is a mood enhancer and after a couple days on it you will be pretty focused and angry. So I guess technically you could focus that on gym work. But generally, it is bad as it puts the body in the opposite state of anabolic.

It's not a mood enhancer at all, in higher doses it causes mild psychosis and retinal imbalance.

I don't know about the retinal imbalance, but mild psychosis during a workout is not necessarily such a bad thing.
