try an akita. it seems you want a large dog.. akita are large versions of the shiba inu which is a med dog.
Akitas are playful, a million times more intelligent than a lab.... and just as playful..
some of their playfullness comes from beinga smart ass. My shiba inu knew i had to leave at 6 am for school.. so he would dick around and not go outside for the day... like i would hav to chase him around and stuff to get him outside.. but when it came to discipline time.. he was a natural. sit on command, eat on commad. heel on command.. only thing you cant really do is walk a shiba inu off leash.. didnt work for me... he always ran away, but like 5 hours later would come home and sit in front of the garage, not moving until we let him in.
I'd get a wolf.
Srs.
That bish would run ****t.

Police pooch becomes a hit on ********
Posted : 26 November 2012
By Barbara Hollands
A FOUR-LEGGED member of East London’s K9 unit has become an international ******** sensation after he fearlessly attacked an armed suspect following an armed robbery in Rosedale Park.
Samurai, a plucky three-and-a-half-year-old German shepherd, broke the suspect’s arm and tore into his (evidently) not-so-private parts after the 18-year-old failed to heed warnings from Samurai’s handler, Warrant Officer Killian Steyn, on Friday, November 16.
Now Samurai has been branded a hero after details of the incident appeared on online crime-fighting ******** page Crime Spotter Buffalo, attracting more than 1 500 comments from as far afield as the US, UK and New Zealand.
The story has also gained almost 5 800 "likes” – more than any entry in the history of Crime Spotter.
"Great doggie, let’s hope he didn’t catch anything nasty,” posted Charlotte Gamlin, while Ian Crawford demanded, "Give that dog a bone!”
Other humorous messages of congratulations included Daniel Howard Vanbuskirk’s, "My Shep always went for the ball”, and Angela Lavender’s, "Another one bites the nuts!”
Police spokesman Captain Stephen Marais said Steyn chased the suspect following an armed robbery in Woolwash Road. A man had been robbed of his groceries and R30 by a group of youths, one of whom was armed with a pistol.
"Two of the suspects were apprehended by police, but the one with the firearm ran into the bush and was followed by Warrant Officer Steyn and Samurai,” Marais said.
"He shouted warnings, the suspect ignored the warnings, so the dog apprehended him.”
Marais said the suspect aimed his firearm at Samurai, but the hound leapt up and responded by breaking his arm.
"The suspect kicked the dog which attacked his groin.”
Steyn arrested the man charged with armed robbery and the unlawful possession of an unlicensed firearm.
"He will appear in court once he has been discharged from Frere Hospital,” Marais said.

Srs. I can tell you from personal experience that they are awesome. Very energetic and high maintenance, but if you can keep up with them you will never look back.
German shepherds are cool too, don't know as much about them though. If you want a guard dog, you are going to want the gsd for sure. Huskies are actually not aggressive at all.
There are also wolf hybrids in case you are interested.

My parents do alot of research on dogs because i have a lot of younger siblings. German shepherds arent good with kids. Of course some will be.

It was my grandparents dog(s)
they were farm dogs though so they were rough
Husky or Akita. Both loyal and great looking dogs.
I've got a Malamute that i'm looking for a home right now. She's going to be 2 years old and her name's Moxie. She's already fixed and everything. Here's a picture of what she looks like lol. She's mixed but very little. Leaving for Military and need to rehome her other wise I wouldn't be wanting to get rid of her to save the life of me :(
Btw, if you're going to get a husky I'd suggest getting a Malamute instead. They're least likely to try and escape when fenced in along with not howling and barking as much. They're better suited for pulling people and doing more things that require brute strength than just one husky. The list goes on ;)
Get a mutt German. Unless it's another giant dog it's bred with the likelihood of hip displacia goes down, and life expectancy goes up. Pure breds are awesome and big but prone to a lot of health issues. My dog is half German half something and it is a decent sized dog that looks mostly like a German (everyone assumes he is), plus he was 40 bucks as a puppy.

^ This. One thing people don't realise is that pure breds have a lot of problems with health. While the muts that populate the earth have little to none of these health problems. Why? Because they get mainly all the good genetics.
If you are into big dogs, St Bernard's really are awesome. I love my pup, the little **** is bigger than me now, he weighed in at 95kg a couple months ago.
I have two German Shepard, they're awesome dogs
Cute az fuk cuz
ikr?
awesome thing is i've trained him to be a guard dog. He's well trained to. we train him like a cop dog although hes not as good... he's getting there. He'll sit in his house for hours if we tell him too.. well at least 1 :3
Get a husky, not only are they badass, but they are very loyal if trained properly :D
Im sure you already know a dog is huge responsibility, but keep in mind huskies and german sheppards are high maintenance as ****, they need a lot of exercise.
Golden Retrievers will always be the GOAT imo.
