Finally saw the premiere last night. Interesting things going on this season, and some interesting contestants. I was shocked that Ben was "ready" to go home, but with nine children and one on the way I guess I can understand him wanting to be home. I just hope for his sake, and his family's sake, he can keep losing the weight and keep it off!
Any show where the main people end up crying is what sells. Not sure why, but that seems to be the MO of these shows.

Meh, the Oprah effect. It's so damn transparent. I don't know how people can stand to let themselves be manipulated. The result itself should be the story.
The Planet Fitness one. " I lift things up and put them down" how dare a show about fat people disrespect weightlifters?
Actually, that is a frequent saying around here, lol. We use it to refer to the fact that strength training and bb'ing are less rocket science and more common sense than people make it out to be.
The show is disgusting and as mentioned previously, Hollywood exploitation at it's finest. This show isn't helping anyone. The methods used to help lose weight are dangerous, and unsustainable.
The show gives a poor impression of what it takes to improve and maintain health.
Totally agree on this one. I heard that some people actually GAIN freakin' weight before auditioning for the show in order to look worse! If you watched that one follow up contestant who gained it all back afterwards....seemed almost more sad than his original obesity.
The techniques they use to lose weight are NOT sustainable, healthy, nor real life.
Jillian is an actress, that's all I gotta say. Her new show makes me want to throw up its so fake.

This. And she is a terrible, terrible trainer. Bob makes her look like a rocket scientist.
I agree. I've never so many sharp angles on a woman's face. I do think she has a vag though.
Bob is too skinny. Me no likey skinny dudes. He's nice though.
Haven't checked out the new dude. Will mute sound when he comes on, so as not to spoil the whole thing.
I've also wondered why on earth do they have to weigh shirtless and/or in a sports bra. Is that really necessary? How much can a T-shirt weigh? I know, I know ratings.
weighing in shirtless lets us see their transformation. i'm pretty sure they're weighed in prior to when they actually show them walk up. thought it was pretty obvious? how else would it ALWAYS come down to the final person having to lose XX lbs or their team loses

Did you guys see Tuesday's??? OMG I was dying..... Bob was frickn hilarious!!!!! The two women on red team were idiots with the first challenge..... I thought the "rivalry" between Dolvett & Bob was pretty damn funny... seriously an entertaining episode!!! :)
-
-
It seems that this season they have done something different, because the weight loss numbers aren't as ridiculous as they have been in previous seasons. Nobody lost 25 pounds in the first week or anything like that, and the second week they averaged about 6 lbs.
I've never seen Bob almost pitch a hissy fit like that before, it was laughable. He seems to think he patented certain workouts. If anything, he should be flattered.
-
I can't believe all of the tranny comments about Jillian, she is a hottie. Also, how can you say she is a terrible trainer when she has helped a lot of people lose a significant amount of weight time and time again. Jillian knows how to push people and gets results.

The contestants started at lower weights that's why there hasn't been the drastic pounds lost. I think it was distracting Bob and yea I thought it was funny too. However I think Bob will somehow be able trump Dolvett's workouts...

Ok, here's what I want to know...
If Planet Fitness is sponsoring The Biggest Loser, and one of their rules is no grunting... I wonder what they think of all the grunting and groaning going on at the ranch??

LOL it's at the Ranch not at their gym so they can't say anything! By the way, that's a dumb gym rule!

I just watched Tuesday's episode last night....
Bob is becoming a jealous bitch.... lol... it was even more funny, the fact that Bob had no voice to speak of.
Dolvette... committing vandalism.... I laughed hard at that on... 94 EVERWHERE....
and yes... those two red team women... just downright stupid for putting 94 lbs as a STARTING wager....
-
LOL it's at the Ranch not at their gym so they can't say anything! By the way, that's a dumb gym rule!
I got a membership there, for the only reasons its $10/month and open 24/5. But the grunting rule sucks...there are more rules...No dropping weights, now Im not the strongest S.O.B. but when your struggling pressing up the dumbbells on the last two reps. Ya want to get them on the floor...I have to be careful. If the stupid "LUNK" alarm goes off. I get busted. If you get busted 3x, your membership is up.
but the gym is huge, at min. 40-50 treadmills, next row, same..40-50 ellipticals, then infront of that Arcs, stationary bikes, and recumbant bikes..then the good stuff...

Just watched it last night on my DVR. It was quite entertaining! Yes, Kim and Kimmie messed up royal on that challenge!! Really surprised they didn't gang up on one of them and send one of them packing!

I looked them up on line for the sole reason that it's only $10/mo. But, I think I'll pay the extra $30/mo so I can "lift things up and put them down". :D
-
It's funny, because when it was just Bob and Jillian, yeah there was competition between the two, but Jillian seemed to always come out on top with the winner of the show.
Now, since bob tasted success and a winning team last season, he and dolvette don't mesh well at all.
-
Apparently Jillian is leaving The Doctors. She posted on her ******** page it was a mutual decision and she didn't get fired. Interesting. So I wonder if she'll be back to Biggest Loser.
-
The two women on red team were idiots with the first challenge.....
I couldn't believe the words that were coming out of that nitwit's mouth after that horrible bet was made.
"I didn't come here to fold."
You obviously didn't come to make smart bets either.

She'll probably be back as a special guest a couple of times during the season, but I doubt if she wants to go back there as a trainer. It would be like taking a step back in her career for her, I would suspect.
In terms of training winners, it is actually fairly even between Bob and Jillian (with Jillian having I think a 4-3 edge), considering there were about 5 seasons where the person who won either came back after elimination, didn't start with either one or might have started with Jillian but switched to Bob.

Oh yeah..this week was wild. Not sure what those women on the red team were thinking. But, to be honest, I think they sent the right person home.
Also, I hear a lot about how this show isn't helping anyone. I have to disagree. Even if a few people see this, get their sh*t together and start a fitness life, the show has helped someone. It's irresponsible to make a global statement like that. What I think is the most motivation is what Doc Huizenga reveals to some of the contestants. When he showed the stenotic left main coronary artery and he called it the Widow Maker. Scared the sh*t out of me. I'm upping my reps and adding some cardio...
I hope that statement scared a few other folks as well.
It is, without a doubt, the most successful fitness related entertainment ever.

Good info. I've never had a membership at any club but I can see definitely that PF is selling to the cardio group. At least that's what the commerical says to me.
It's too bad that down here in Mansfield Tx, the only two clubs we have are Lifetime and a 24 Hour Sport. Where's a good old lifting club! Might just start one in my garage. Free membership...donations only. It'll be dark, dank, smell like sweat. There'll be only a few florescent lights and only one rule. "You Put Rap Music on my Intercom and we'll kick your ass".

Im game, we are getting 8 inches of snow today. Which means, my cardio will be shoveling 125'x 12' wide driveway. Looks like back and Biceps might have to wait a day!...Warm weather, here I come!!

Looks like the red team has once again proven that they are the dumbest team in the history of BL...WTF? for 30 calories each, I would have eaten 4 or 5 of those fortune cookies. Being in charge of the challenges is a MAJOR advantage. Goofballs...

True.
I was pissed that buddy just up and left. Seems like this group is much more sensitive. As of last night not sure if I'm a Dolvett fan. Why aren't his contestants dropping lb's like Bob's team? I did find last night's show entertaining. That red team girl....conda or amanda?? What an attitude on her! I wanted to smack her lol.
