Thats the unfortunate thing about gainers- most have a bunch of maltodextrin in then, and the ones that use quality carbs are more expensive. If it comes down to it, just start grinding some oats in the coffee grinder and add that to your whey. Mixes alright with water and doesn't taste bad at all despite the texture being a little gritty.
other than what you listed, there is bionic edge mass gainer which is like 80 bucks or something...makes up your mass and myojuiced look cheap :)
I've looked and couldn't find anything that wasn't full of it. So I decided to make my own using oat flour.
Edit: Ok, Bionic Edge looks REALLY good.

I don't think it sells like hot cakes.
RTN is $90 for 10lbs (some hard math later, and I come up with $9/lb!) RTN Mass Builder. It's not really the deal of the century, particularly given the quantity...

i used to use oat flour from whole foods.
it tasted really bad and was VERY clumpy. the powder used in uym and myojuiced is much finer and better tasting compared to when i made my own.
i could also never manage to get in more than 30g of carbs in each shake because it was so thick lol.
Im taking pvl mutant mass as we speak and im gaining weight like crazy and i only take it half as much as it recommends! 15lbs for $70

mutant mass is VERY high glycemic. they modify the barley starch.
a company called Bobs Red Mill is typically not too bad for oat flour. Often, the 'healthy choice' (i.e. overpriced specialty crap) stores sell it. I've seen it a couple times in regular grocery stores too, although they really mark it up. I think it can be ordered direct from them too.

very expensive. i remember the oat flour at whole foods was 4 bucks for a small thing (?) of it. i think a pre-made gainer might be cheaper if you dont buy the oat flour online lol.

Yup, this is exactly what I use.
How malto-free are we talking here? Isogainer has a small amount but the main carb sources are barley, oats, and oat fibre. Cross flow whey isolate is the main protein source and there is added flax, borage, and K R-ALA.

You were buying at whole foods... that's the first problem here.
Put some quick oats in a coffee grinder until it looks like powder and throw it in your shake. The texture isn't great but it isn't hard to get down either. It's an easy way to get a cup of oats in your diet and it doesn't hurt the wallet.
A weight gainer is pretty much just protein+carbs+maybe fat.
So get the best stuff for the money you can find of each and just throw it together.
Coconut oil is a pretty good fat for use, and you can always get flax oil or whatever for fat.
Of course, whey protein is cheap (it's extremely cheap at a particular site that is censored here. The site name has something to do with a protein... industrial fabrication unit, if you get my drift. 20 bucks for 5 pounds of whey isolate.)
Also, if you're staunch on getting a high-GL carb instead of quick oats or whatever, you can buy rilose (rice sugar) from that same site, which some attest to being less... problematic than maltodextrin or dextrose, but with the same GL index.

17 servings for $32, all high quality carbs. I use it once in awhile when I have a super busy day and it lasts me over a month.
Lecithin would be a great fat to add to a homeade mass-gainer shake.
Oatmeal sure, and rip up some tuna fish for protein, if you cook the oatmeal first and let the tuna fish heat form the steam,
I usually just eat tuna fish and oatmeal by pouring bowling water over the oatmeal then when the water absorbs uinto the oatmeal I pklace the tuna fish on top and make it into a groul. It remind \s me of Oliver Twists pourridge scenario. But he'll never be askin for more
Platnium series ultimate mass by bodybuilding.com is a new one without maltodextrin. Im looking into buying some myself.

I was made aware of this by one of the CM threads. Very solid carb blend. It apparently comes in a Cinnamon Oatmeal flavor, too.
