i broke my record yesterday again :). Not because i wanted it, but because i used the wrong weights haha, and in the end of the training i saw why it was so damn hard to lift :D. My mistake taked me to the next lvl.
Nice work! Sometimes the weights can mess with your head... The mind controls the body!

Don't worry about how much weight. It's more important to do it right. I see guys all the time half squatting or putting their knees over their toes. Awful!

That makes me cringe! It also makes my knees hurt just thinking about it!

I know. I watched two teenage boys do it yesterday. Shaky legs all the way up and down, knees over toes, way too much weight. One of them crumpled under the weight. classic example of worrying about weight rather than form. Never sacrifice form for weight.
As Kris Gethin would say, leg workouts separate the men from the boys. Can't wait for my next leg workout too, but still gonna rest a bit. Still really sore from yesterday's leg workout. No matter what I do every time I go all out on legs I suffer from soreness for a good couple days or so. Sometimes maybe longer.
Leg day today arg. Just worked and was up and down the stairs all day lugging 50+ pound objects. Not sure if I'm feeling it. Need motivation dammit!

To succeed, you have to check your ego at the door and forget all about how much weight you are lifting.. I had to learn that the hard way as well.. The sooner you learn to do that, the better!
like everyone else is saying. patience is so important. when you really start slow and then work your way up correctly. you'll be very happy when you reach your goals. but if you are cheating and half repping then it's not official and your ego will be crushed when it's brought to your attention. i personally love squating and can't wait for the next workout. i feel i can notice my increase in strength a lot more in my legs than in my upper body.

Well said!
I train my legs 1-2 times a week doing:
3x8 squats
3x10 stiff leg DL's
3x10 BB lunges each side
2x10 ham curls
2x10 quad extensions
2x10 leg press
3x10 standing calf raises
takes around 90min and i have really sore DOMS for at least 48 hours each time
My squat weight may be a little high after reading these posts but my legs are so long that its a lot harder to squat full depth than most guys. I still make sure i hit parallel though. But will be squatting 10kg lighter next time and working my way up from there to ensure linear progression of weight.
I want thick legs not chicken legs like i have atm. at least 4 years of heavy leg workouts to come
BRING IT ON

I like your motivation as well as your realism!
How often do you see those guys at the gym that are constantly training their chest and arms. Eventually those individuals become topheavy and have to resort to wearing pants to the gym everyday to cover up their chicken legs. The fact of the matter is, guys typically do not enjoy training their legs. It hurts in and out of the gym with little nocitable change. If you don't already know this, the harder you train your legs the more testosterone your body will produce! More testosterone means bigger gains for your upper body!
I used to HATE training my legs, now it is by far my favorite training day of the week. Leg day prep usually begins the night before, I try to get an extra hour or two of sleep and mentally commit to an absolute war with my body the next day. You can't go in and half ass leg day! You have to go in and give 110% or you might as well just go home. I have nearly passed out and thrown up in between sets, then got right back into the fight. Leg day will slowly grow on you and you will walk out of the gym with a feeling unlike any other. You will feel gratified, I promise!
dam bro, i like ur threads lol..too bad it wont let me rep anymore..
I swear leg training is the only reason I go to the gym... loved legs from day 1.
Started training after watching this video

I remember squatting 4-5x a week at one point trying to match Frank Yang's weights. To this day I still hit legs twice a week and dislike upperbody training haha.
Here are some more leg motivation videos for you guys.

Thanks bro! Likewise! That's the beauty of this site and forum.. Combining like minded people!
Great videos! I like your outlook as well as your quotes!
Sooner or later I'll finally admit I'm into S&M.
Organised a new routine, and it's been two days since my leg day...and the next one is to-morrow and I'm still sore.
Why am I sill sore and an obvious enjoyer of extreme pain? I put four different squats in one day. normal squats, front squats, ATG squats, and Sumo squats. I seperated normal and ATG because I really feel them in totally different areas, and...again, I'm a glutton for torture. Throw in a bunch of other exercises, and I nearly died walking to the gym to-day.
Thrashed the wheels today! One of the best pumps I think I have ever had! Can't wait to see how things are operating tomorrow!
Another great leg day! I'll post picks after the show on the 19th of my newly grown wheels!!
Can't wait for this weekend for the place to clear out and I can go crazy with the dead lifts!! The calm before the storm!!
Tomorrow is still gonna be hell on the quads! First things first!!
i definitely need to pick it up at my leg day, It's one of the reasons I only wear shorts now to the gym. I want to make sure I remind myself to go hard and build them up. Thanks for the reminder, leg day tom.
Just got done doing legs. I always hate getting started but once I get that first burn/pump I'm addicted and can't stop. Love/hate relationship lol
