Weight is weight. Unless it's York.
I've got the York commercial flat bench. The thing is darn near perfe t for me. I've loaded it with over 800 pounds total weight and it did not budge, wiggle or creak at all. In fact, I think I heard it laugh ;-)

Legacy or vintage? Just kidding.
Its good to be here, keep the photos coming guys. I need a daily hit of york legacys, bars, york routine posters, and plates....lots of plates!!!!!!!!
Alright, I realize you guys have pics of your gear spread all around on various threads but I think they need to be consolidated into this thread. I also don't think anyone else should be inducted into the ()---()York Barbell Club()---() unless they post pics of their gear here as well. I may not own any York products myself but I do enjoy some iron porn.

i want one of those.
Will these cover the initiation costs?
Yes, send the to me! Just one pair is sufficient. LOL.
Great idea. So, to join this club we need to own York gear, post it on this thread and wait for an invite?
I do not own any York gear yet, but in my research of plates as of late, I am really enamored by their Legacy Olympic Standard Plates. I have went back and forth between them and Ivanko plates, while "building my dream gym in my head" and I just keep leaning to the Yorks. There is something about them that I just like. They seem like "real raw iron"...or something like that! HAHAHHA!
Although realistically, I would be more able to afford one of their International Olympic Plate weight sets in a realistic time frame.
Does anyone here know much about those plates? From my understanding they are "rough cast" plates, and are not milled. What I am curious about is their weight accuracy. Would these be a good way to "jump into nicer plates" or should I just save forever to get the "Legacy milled" plates?
Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
EDIT: I found a place to buy the York Barbell Club shirts.

The guy that runs that site (John Wood) is coming to my gym next week. It should be an interesting visit.
Yes, brethren. The "easy" way is to go online and order from Old Time Strong Man. Should a York man go the easy way? No. He puts in the work and makes the pilgrimage to York, PA and buys his shirt from the outlet store on-site at the Weightlifting Hall of Fame!
ETA: oldtimestrongman.com is a good website. If you can, you should make the drive to York to check out the museum.

There's a two-week period of standing on the porch. Then, we take your car on a road trip to York, PA.
Are these new manufacture kilogram sets, or sets made overseas, or the stuff made for York's affiliate in the EU?

I called York and they said they could send me a 300lb set (weight includes bar) for a bit over $450.00.
What do you think?
Thanks.
Two words: Allison Foreman. I strongly urge you contact Allison and get a quote from her if you are going to buy new. Her prices are the best.
These plates are cast, not milled, and rough. They are within 2% of stated weight. They are not made in the US.

EDIT: I tried to rep you but it said I need to give other people reputation...
I have a York calf machine. Is that enough? :). Its not pretty and I wish it had handles for the pads but its way better than the body solid one that had handles. The bar is on a swivel so the seat doesn't come down. So you are only using your calves. 50 pounds is plenty for it for now!

I still have a pair of these left after selling a pair to a craigslister that spotted them in my garage after purchasing other weight plates from me.

All the plates on the rack are York Oly plates in pounds, the bar is a stainless steel York bar, the plates on the bar are York and the dumbbells are York roundheads. The dumbbells on the right belong to the gym owner's wife.
Small break from all the awesome York porn just to share a pic of some of the plates I sold (flipped) today after obtaining my awesome-o milled USA Yorks:

I use flat paint on the lb plates and semigloss on the roundheads and kg plates.
