Jesus christ, i missed the new thread till now?
Anyways gents, i think im trading my Sig 228 w/IWB holster for this:
sig 239 .40 cal, 2 mags, Galco IWB holster...40 rounds of self defense (Winchester) and 200 rounds of FMJ.
The 228 is to large for me to CC without dressing like a sloppy fuk. BRB no more fitted t-shirts every again, and having to wear button down shirts one size to big to CC. The guy wants to trade straight up, his 239 has about 200 rds through it and was bought this spring. Sounds like a good deal to me, no?
They didnt bother to update the status at all. Wake up this morning to an e-mail sent from them at 1am (lol wut) stating it was shipped and will arrive friday. Things went better than expected

I carry a P228 in the Florida heat all the time. I carry in a Smart Carry and have no issues whatsoever. If you are hesitant about getting rid of the 228 at least check out the Smart Carry.

I tried on a SC with a Glock 27 (i know...brick so maybe not the best example), but when i sat down with it it jabbed me in the gut unless i leaned back a bit. The way my office chair is setup, i cant lean back comfortably and i spend a good amount of time sitting during the work day.
It was more comfortable than my IWB @ 4 oclock during any other activity though. I just hate not being able to to wear my normal clothes when i CC. Im not certain the SC would allow me to wear my usual shirts because of the grip length protruding out. Maybe im wrong?

The thing about a SC is that most people put it on wrong. It is supposed to strap just below your hips. Not sure if you had it that way or had it too high. Maybe try again?
I have carried and sat down all day with a G22 using a SC at work.
Of course SC just may not work for some people. But to me this is the best way of carrrying a full size pistol and not have to worry about how you dress. Of course a mid-sized and compact pistol work better. ;)

"We make every attempt to ship your order the same day when it is placed by 4 pm Monday thru Friday"
Did you meet the above requirement?
At any rate since you live in the people's replubic of Illinois and have to show that you are licensed in order to buy ammo that can slow things up. Don't blame them for that, blame your state laws

Could be i had it on wrong lol. I am doing the trade at any rate. Its a newer sig, proven design, DA/SA, and much lighter than my current setup. Thanks for the input on that SC, i will try it again when i see that guy. If it works ill recommend to my dad who is applying for his CPL and will have to carry his G 27.

I wouldn't, the forces that be seem to be cracking down lately on all sorts of stuff that was kosher before.

Sup farls, hows school?
There is but not close by. I'm not a fan of wal-mart. Plus I can research a good price online from multiple different companies.
That is what I like to hear. Walmart sucks, don't give them your business just to save a couple of nickels. For handgun ammo sgammo will be competitive in every caliber. You can also keep an eye on slickguns.com for ammo deals. Ammoseek.com is a good price search engine, don't use ammoengine.com they only search like 10 ****ty resellers. Most plinking ammo will be indistinguishable in terms of performance so don't get hung up on that at least imho. sgammo has good deals on defense ammo.

Practically speaking I took my last exam yesterday. I basically just have a big report and presentation next week and that's it.

I feel you, Cheap. Shorts and T-shirt weather sucks for packing heat. I'm considering getting a 9mm pocket gun eventually to deal with the issue, but right now I'm still carrying my P99. I can't go too crazy with tighter shirts, but decent fitting shirts work fine as long as I keep my holster behind my hip (like 4 or 5 O'clock) so the butt doesn't stick out.
I just awared myself on the Smart Carry holsters, they look good, although I am doing fine with my IWB leather. But, I can't carry at work so I don't get too bothered by sitting on my gun all day.
Damn the KAC MAMs muzzle brake is looking like pure HNNNNGHHHHH. So are the new suppressors.
If it is long enough to get a 13.7 to 16 I'm selling dat der kidney for a new upper.
co witness set up with an aimpoint
Absolute or lower 1/3? What do you guys think?

adjustable , flip up front.

As Culking asked, do you have fixed BUIS? If so, then I would do lower 1/3. Personally, I like to keep my sites as low as possible, but absolute co-witness with fixed sites just feels cluttered to me.
EDIT - Saw you posted just before me. If it is flip, then I would do absolute. It really does, however, come down to a personal preference.

I'm with him. If you have flip ups then absolute is what I would do without a doubt.
Definitely absolute if you have a folding front sight. Have you picked out a mount for the Aimpoint yet?

went shopping last night and looked through some red dots that were set up at absolute and lower 1/3. The lower 1/3 didnt feel right to me. I kinda wanted to get a feel for anyone who liked the lower 1/3 and why

I use 1/3 on my KAC just because I got an insane deal on an LT660. I like the 1/3 just because when BUIS are flipped up it doesn't seem to clutter up the sight picture. I rarely ever have BUIS flipped up when Aimpoint is turned on though (which is 24/7/365)... I don't know why anyone wouldn't go with absolute if they had the chance. I definitely don't prefer lower 1/3 but I certainly don't mind it enough to sell and re-gear.
