do you plan to compete? If so, does he give you tips & advice?
You are one lucky Son of a Bit_ch to be able to train with him. What supplement line is he with? Whats it like seeing a pro in person?
I do not plan on competing, I just love bodybuilding. I still get loads of advice from him about diet, training, everything.
I am lucky :)
Seeing a pro in person is way different from seeing a pro in videos or pictures. Its hard to explain how big they are in real life until you actually see one.

True words... All the Jay haters would stfu if they saw his ass in person. Lines and aesthetics fly right out the door when you see how massive he is. Not saying that's what bodybuilding should be solely based on, but you can't ignore how impressive it is.
COME TO ME!!! 3 MORE!! DRIVEEEEE!
YES!!! lol @ 3:08 anyone who hasn't seen it is sure to get pumped to work legs!

They look like some model of K Swiss.
Awesome thread OP.Repz.
Yea hes pre-contest right now thats why we trained like that im sure I have seen him go a lot heavier with less reps when he isn't just a few weeks out
Dennis is going to be the guest poser at the Southern Classic in Jackson,MS this summer. Can't wait to see him.Hopefully I will get a chance to meet him.

no they don't
personally I'm not a Jay hater, but I just disagree with that part in bold. He is impressive. I just don't think "lines and aesthetics fly right out the door"
what was so hard about that leg workout? u did basic **** we all do...by the way big James fan here, a good man for sure....
what was so hard about that leg workout? u did basic **** we all do...by the way big James fan here, a good man for sure....
Its just the way everything is done. Really strict form, slow reps on things, full ROMs, doing 5 more when you can't even feel your legs. Its hard to even explain but I don't think I will ever have a more intense workout in my entire life. I thought I trained hard but something like this is just humbling and shows you why pro bodybuilders are pro bodybuilders

Awesome man. He is a real personable guy and is always nice to his fans from what i've seen.

What's happening here?
What's happening here?
Basically it was an exercise for glutes and hams, or at least I think lol. Pros train differently because they already have the size they need the crazy exercises like this one to help bring out the lines and such. It was actually surprisingly hard, probably because I was so spent already though.
thx yessec with sharing the pics
repped as i promised
are u gonna train more with him or was it for 1 day
Great thread, thanks for sharing
that is amazing jessec congratulations you made it through. i wouldnt have been able to make it through man, mad props, you are one tough s.o.b.!!!
ppl just dont understand how intense they train. everything he did was strict form and slow repsi completely understand at how difficult the training is. i have witnessed joel stubbs doing a leg workout and even joel who has undersized legs for his frame has an extremely intense leg workout. joel did pretty much the same workout for quads(he splits his legs into 2 sessions one day for quads and one for hams) you described but he started with atg squats.
one thing ppl dont realise is just how big these guys are. joel and dennis james are huge even by bodybuilding standards but if you see even some of the "smaller" pros like dexter jackson they would freak most ppl out.

I train with him quite often but I won't be taking pictures every time. Luckily my friend was training yesterday so he just followed me around and put plates on/took them off and took pics for me.
Awesome man. Must be really cool to train with a pro!
Cool pictures!
great pics man!
OP is the winner. Repped.
Wait a minute. .... I thought all pros were dickheads!
Props to DJ and the OP.
Just to update my legs are beyond sore. Walking up the stairs, getting out of my truck, any task that involves legs that takes no efforts takes me minutes to accomplish due to the severe lactic acid buildup in my legs. It is not fun
What was the rest time like?

it would be easily solved if it was just lactic acid build up. the muscle fibers themselves are actually damaged (in a good way). if u took a biopsy & stuck it under microscope u would see the pattern order of fibers disturbed significantly.
OP, you've won.
