You guys are wrong, it's obviously 50, if the guy is half is age when hes 2 then it means hes gunna be half his age at 100 which = 50, can't believe you guys didn't get that...no mathematictions ITT, geez.
OP you forgot that misc is much more intelligent than 99% of people.
not srs
Yeah it's 148 or 99, depending how you choose to read it.
This. O believe this is set out as to most peple to say 99, then the people who get 148 feel they are the 1% and get on their high horse.
148 years old brother.
Other brother was 52, then his flight from Lincoln, NE to Atlanta GA had an In-flight Emergency. After a crash landing he miraculously survived, but didn't look both ways and was struck and killed by emergency response vehicles at the scene.
The answer is 52 and OP is a *******

99?
Lol off the top of my head I thought 50 but realized I was a idiot in about .0350 seconds
Edit: Are ppl srs about 148 or w/e?
Its 99
If 5 = 7, 8 = 9, 14 = 24 what does 4,350 =?
I'd hope 99% of people get this right...
Potato
What if you don't take the dates in count of the half of age thing.
Brother 1: 2 years old on feb 4th.
Brother 2: 1 year old on feb 4th, birthday on the 5th.
Brother 1: 100 years old on feb 5th.
Brother 2: 100 years old on feb 5th.
When you were 2, your brother was 50.
You are now 100. 50+98=148.
mind=blown at everyone saying 99... unless everyone is trolling?
ohhhhh 148 actually kinda makes more sense now i see it
99. How is this even hard?
Alright so the function is, x=1/2x1, where x1 is your brothers age. When we plug in two, as x, we get x to be 1. So now, your 100, however this function will no longer support this question. But we do know as your age increased, your brother was always one year behind. So the new function becomes, x-1= x1 where x1 is your brothers age. Plug in 100 for x you get x1 to be 99.
There, to conclude this problem, your brothers age is 99.00 (two sig figs) years old.
Hope that helps!
Let x=your brother's age
Now the problem tells us that 98 years ago, your were 2 years old and your brother was (1/2)*2=1 year old
So our equation to solve is:
x-98=1 add 98 to each side
x=99 years old----your brother's age
This man is a GENIUS
i got 99 problems but this math problem aint one.
the answer is the only number in the sentence above
Is your brother born on a leap year??
i am a women I dont do math, my brain hurts, but srs 50 or 99?
why are you out of the kitchen?
99. How is this even hard?
the guys age is 100.. when he was 2 his brother was half his age(50) so 98 years later- brother is 148 ..but 99 is suitable too.. depends on how i want to take it
