The volume in your sessions have gone up.
Saw the PR's and was impressed by your weighted PU's.
How can you squat with a sinus headache?
It's a good feeling when you introduce a new higher weight to work with re: front raises and delt flyes. Nice job! :)
-
Hey Eric, stopping by to read and say hi. Sorry I haven't been by as much. Being unable to lift and journal myself, guess I stopped seeing what others were doing.

Thanks Louise. I had planned to do alot more the other day, but the headache just wouldn't allow it. I have been trying to get the 20's on the rear delts for a while with no success so it felt good to be able to lift them without swinging them.

HAHA, thanks geek but I am not as tough as I would like to be. A tough guy would have finished the session :)

Today was Abs day and here it is.
circuit
Hanging leg raises
x15
Oblique sways
40x20L. 40X20R
Weighted Cable Crunches
50X20
3 minutes rest and repeat cycle
3minutes rest then repeat cycle.
Today is normally an off day, but it has been sleeting/snowing all day with high winds and I have not been out of the house all day. Out of boredom I decided it wouldn't hurt to do some AB work since I have been leaving it out of my routine lately. I think I get plenty of ab work through deadlifts/squats/benchpress/overhead press etc., but since I can see them now it can't hurt to add some direct work I suppose. I weighed 165.6 this AM, so I should be back on schedule in a couple more days. Today's food

135x8
V-bar Tricep Pressdowns
50x15
60x12
70x9
That was it for today. I am feeling kinda weak today and having some cramps, not sure if it is from the lower potassium levels I have been getting lately, from the lack of carbs, or just from some lingering sinus issues. Either way I hope it passes soon. My Chest and Triceps are both pumped up really good though so it was a good session. I am going to hit the woods in the morning for a little deer hunting, the weather has been terrible for the last two days with high winds, snow and freezing temps but tomorrow the wind is supposed to be pretty calm. I went over on the diet a little but I felt it neccessary to add in a banana to my post-workout shake. Today's food

Your pressing is looking really good Eric --- great volume and lifts. Your shoulder issues are obviously settling. Maybe 2103 will be the 'Year of the bench'!
Happy New Year Eric!

Certainly doesn't hurt to work the abs. hehe I like the fact your abs motivated you enough to give them some attention :D
Happy New Year!

I agree, nice pressing. Way to get those cgbp in after all that too, those are rough when you've done that much volume already. Ab work?! Well as long as it doesn't turn into a full blown Abs and Biceps day I think you're good. :D Happy New Year!

i hope you bagged a 12 point buck today. happy new year, eric. <3

Thanks Andrew. I had a little shoulder pain yesterday and decided not to go up to 205, and just focus on getting to 3 sets of 10 reps at 185 first. I don't think this year will bring too much towards the benching, but as long as I can go forward at all I will be happy.
Happy new year to you and your family as well.

Thanks Louise. I suppose if I am going to bring them out of hiding I need to hit them occasionally.
Happy new year to you and your family.

Thanks Hammie. Those CGBP's were rough and I had to fight for every rep, but they sure pumped my triceps up. I was thinking of using my saturday off day to do a few sets of Ab work, but don't know how long it will last. Happy new year to you too.

Thanks geek, I didn't even see a deer today. Guess they were sleeping in to prepare for an epic party tonight :). Happy new year to you and your family.

Today was Deadlift day and here it is.
135x10
225x8
315x6
365x4
405x2
425x1
365x3
315x5
That was it for today, I had planned to go for 445, but while pulling the 425 I got a sharp pain down the outside of my right pec, and in my right lat and almost dropped the 425. That scared me off of the 445 attempt, but after a brief rest and some stretching I was able to do a couple more lighter sets. Really wanted a last minute PR though bfore the new year. I weighed in at 164.8 this morning, almost back to where I was pre-holiday feasting. Today's food
Happy new year everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great way to finish off 2012 with a 2.5BW deadlift
Really nice session! (and I'm so jealous ;) )

Thanks Andrew. I am incredibly sore today, traps/lats/lower back/hams/glutes/quads/shoulders/abs the deadlifts are king of all exercises IMO, no other exercsie has ever given me total body DOMS.
-
Being the first day of the new year I thought I would set some goals for this year. I am extremely happy with the past years results even though I didn't meet all of my goals for 2012, I was close. These will be what I am striving for this year.
Deadlift: 500 lbs.
Squats: 405 lbs.
Benchpress: 275 lbs. for reps
Bentover Rows: 315 lbs. for reps
Overhead Press: 175lbs. for reps
My other goal is to maintain 12% BF or less and add some lean mass. I would like to hit 170lbs. BW @ 10% BF by the end of next year.
Hope everyone has a great new year and that you all reach your goals for this year as well.
-
Great work for 2012 and mirin' those goals for 13
You'll get that deadlift and give the others a damn good run, so I'm expecting 6/6 goals to be achieved for 12 months time

75x10
85x8
85x8
That was it for today. I kept it kinda light tonight because I have some serious DOMS in my lower back, lats, traps, and mostly everywhere else from yesterdays Deadlifts. I wasn't going to post any pictures until I hit 8% BF, but I am starting a sponsered suppliment log next week and needed a before picture so I will post it here also. I looked better I think before the holidays, all those desserts put it on me. Even now at pretty much the same weight I feel fluffier:)

I think I am around 12/13% BF now, but could be way off on that.
-
Arms and forearms are looking really thick Eric and I'm really jealous of those biceps veins
We all carry our fat a little differently. Going by your arms/vascularity I'd say 10%, and going by your abs I'd say 12%
Looking good for the start of your new log!
-
Thanks Andrew. I have pretty wide hips and I look alot narrower from the side. I suppose I will have to maintain a very low BF% to ever look narrow waisted from the front. I hope we get to see that in the next couple of months:).
Today was supposed to be my Chest accessory day and I am still sore from sundays session so I figured instead of weights I would just do some push-ups and call it a day.
I did 5 sets of 15 standard push-ups and four sets of 15 feet elevated on the coffee table push-ups trying to target the upper chest a bit.
I also started my sponsored suppliment journal and the link is in my signature for anyone interested. Today's food I ran out and forgot my lunch today and had to suppliment with a subway sandwich which tasted like the way dirty feet smell:)
-
Lurk here far more than I ever post, obviously, but in for your great goals for 2013. Good stuff EB.

Yessir. While not altogether surprising, it is remarkable how many people just don't get the mental aspect of this endeavor. They bring defeat upon them before they even ever try.

Lookin good E!
Good lifts too.
How much water per day do you drink?

Congrats on getting to do a supp log, I'll have to check it out! Lol at the subway comment, I know exactly what you mean on that. It's a fair amount of protein but yeah that place is also my last resort if I have nothing to bring in for work.

I must admit that I was the same way for a long time. Now I am pretty fearless when it comes to lifting. If I think there is a shot that I can do it I will gibe it a try.

Thanks cmoore. I shoot for 1.5 gallons per day, but usually hit just over 1 gallon.

That was it for today. I wrecked my truck on the way home from work and thought the anger at myself might fuel a really good session, but it was mediocre. My truck is out of commission for a while until I can afford to replace pretty much the entire front-end. I hit a car that stopped in the middle of the road about 300 yards from the stop sign, I need to pay more attention :). Luckily no one was hurt, only some sheetmetal. Today's food Was a little high on the fat today and low on the protien, but it was close enough I suppose.
-
Sorry to hear about the accident but glad everyone is ok. Not a nice start to the new year!
Strong work above and with good volume! It's making me think going back to split work is the way to go now that I'm on a reduced cal diet. There is a lot of merit in giving more attention to each exercise and working particular muscle groups harder(as you have done) - You get out what you put in ;)
Here's to an exciting new year full of positives!
-
Glad you're alright, sorry about the truck.
-
Bad luck about the truck, but at least you weren't hurt ---- the upside was that you expunged your anger in the gym and had a great session. Strong lifts and volume!
