Social programs have there place. However they need to be massively scaled back for the people that actually need them. Lazy welfare queens need a hard dose of reality. The amount of people that take advantage of public assistance is staggering.
My stance as a libertarian is to create an economic environment where every class can benefit off of hard work alone. Strengthen the dollar, reduce taxes, create jobs.
Lot's of people "actually need them." How else would people like the millions of WalMart workers feed themselves or have health coverage?
Well i did my part. Need about 20 more negs to make this ******* red.

I read about an after school program today that provides homework help to low income kids in a public library. Tell a republican about that, and they'd probably start btching that it was a socialist program in a left-wing taxpayer funded government indoctrination center or some such nonsense. It's pretty scary how disconnected from reality they're getting.
You sure about that bro. Im far right, but that really is a good idea. Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and providing another resource for them to increase their knowledge and increase the potential for them to not end up on the streets is a great idea.
Oh wait Hurr Durr every right wing poster is a racist southern gun nut

You're also from Canada, which has a very different "conservative movement" than the US does.
^Typical Republican mindset.
I hope your grandparents saved enough to be "wealthy" into their retirement, because if they didn't, their own grandson would willingly off them just to save a little on his income tax bill.
and Republicans wonder why they can't win elections anymore.
Of course they did. They're responsible, self-sufficient members of society.

Lol I bet all those Walmart workers have a tv, cell phone, and other luxury goods that should be reserved for people that can afford them. So maybe if they made more responsible decisions with their money they wouldn't need to leach off the tax payers.

Typical Republican fantasy about people on welfare actually being wealthy
How about you try living in the real world for once? How about you actually go to a food bank instead of believing the lies you're told by right-wing media?
-
- Republican
- logic
Choose one.
Keep in mind these people believe that:
- the world is 6k years old
- fetuses are human beings
- guns make the country safer
Republicans are just lead by emotions, mainly fear and anger, and donīt think rational. They just want someone who can dominate them and who they can feel safe with, like Trump.

Yea, or disabled people, or old people who can no longer work and who need public assistance and Medicaid to stay alive
But you'd rather they just die off so you can have a 10% higher paycheck. Shameful.

These are perfectly fine social programs to fund. However Funding Jamal so he can trade his foodstamps for cash and buy Jordans is not.
We don't treat the underlying cause and its a complicated issue. We need a strong currency, better environment to do business, and less taxes so everyone gets a better share of the pot.
We should be empowering people to be proud of who they are and encouraging self responsibility and hard work.
The progressives do none of this. They encourage a victim mentality, false sense of entitlement, and a system that encourages you not to work hard because everything can be given to you.
Progressives create an environment where its shameful to be white. I am proud of who I am. As any race should be. Blacks should also be proud of who they are and try to progress.
The only think holding the African American community back is the African American community. If you are a smart well spoken educated black man you are outcasted and called an Uncle Tom. Tell me how this is allowing empowerment to a community and pushing them forward.

You're taking the discussion from financial issues, which the government can easily control, over to cultural issues, which the government has only limited influence.
If you don't like culture, how do you change it? A culture is made up of many individuals, so it's not very easy to do.

I fail to see how any of that is my responsibility. Why can't liberals have any person responsibility? Don't have enough money? Government should just steal it from people who have too much.

Is it the responsibility of someone born with a disability that they can't support themselves?
