I don't understand the confusion here. Why not just go with "damn you look good!" That one's kinda hard to take the wrong way, it can apply to Flex Wheeler or your favorite porn star just the same.
Um... Yeah, I'd def go for this one! I like "buff" too. ;)

so. Between "you're so SKINNY" and "you look so toned" I think I'd prefer the latter. Cause at this point, I'm not TRYING to be skinny in any way. I'm trying to look JACKED. ;)
My daughter is a 5' 9.5" bikini competitor. She gets FURIOUS when she's told she is skinny!!!! Jacked... yeah baby!!!!

I think it's because in guy speak, to call any woman "muscular", he's picturing Bev Francis. ;)
I have guys telling me I'm fit, jacked, in shape, athletic, sport Jill...you name it. None of it matters to me, because so long as I'm happy with my body, that's all that count. I'm the only one I need to please, and that's hard enough. lol
So long as no one is calling me "doughy" or "soft", I'm content. :)

I am getting excited about the veins too. I have never had much vascularity in my life - in my youth I could only see veins on my hands and feet. Now I can see them on my forearms when it's hot (or I'm training). Once I get them on my biceps I'll be thrilled.
But yes, after 25 years of training I now have arms that look "toned". I would much rather have arms that were huge and jacked but I don't seem to have the genetics to gain much muscle there and after dieting since Christmas after an arm-centric bulk I have discovered my arms are more like Linda Hamilton circa T2 than a physique or even a figure competitor. The lady at the gym who asked how I got such toned arms had a hard time swallowing the "25 years of heavy training and a low carb diet" answer I gave her. Oh well.

Just took my son and his fiance out for Sunday birthday brunch - the hostess, who was younger than me, commented the whole time about how fit and toned I was, and to keep up the good work. I smiled and thanked her.......it's always nice to have your hard work appreciated!
I find complimenting women rather diffcult these days. I have no idea what thier reaction is going to be. I tend to resort to a 'you look nice' and then branch out based on the reaction.
Today I've learned:
- Women with muscles are not toned.
- Shorter women are not cute.
I have experimented with complimenting her shoes though. Seems you can't wrong with that.
So much wisdom in this post haha
Where's the "LIKE" button? lol
YES!!!!! Where is the "like" button?!?!?!

I don't care much for the word "toned" either. It reminds me of women using Barbie weights.
I've only ever had anyone tell me I'm "skinny". Little do they know I have a ton of fat hiding under my clothing.
