Bush was a liberal, duh. I am starting to get this sneaking suspicion that you dont really know what the terms liberal and conservative mean.
Ok, I will. Duh
http://vcnv.org/voting-records-on-the-iraq-war
Hmm.. doesn't seem like most democrats were against the war. Maybe it wasn't as much of a partisan issue as you hacks love to claim. Sure am glad I looked up the voting records.
Or was that not the war you were talking about. Duh! You must have been talking about the war in Afghanistan!
http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=107&session=1&vote=00281
Well, dang look at that. 100% of the Senate democrats voted "Aye" on that war. How strange.
I must have missed the part about only conservatives voting for the wars. Or were you talking about our other wars? Surely they were all started when conservatives were in power. Lets see:
1st Gulf War - President George Bush
Vietnam - Lyndon Johnson
Korea - Harry S. Truman
WW2 - Franklin Roosevelt
WW1 - Woodrow Wilson.
Mexican American War - James Polk
Well, I sure glad I looked that up. Definitely seeing a trend.
You sure about that? Well, maybe I should do some looking, Duh!
http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/compare_state_education_spend
Maybe I will start by looking at states and see where the monies get spent when conservatives control the purse strings. Because I think you are confusing some conservatives desire to defund the Department of Education ( a federal program by the way. And one that is,in no way, justified by the Constitution) to allow the states to retain control of their own education dollars. You know, because those hateful monster conservatives want to punish kids by pumping more money into their schools.
I am so confused now. Luckilly for me you simplified the issue so that even I can understand it. Duh!
It goes like this. Conservatives are anti-education. We know this because you say that
Yet you claim that NCLB was conservative legislation. Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't NCLB the single largest increase in federal government spending since Jimmy Carter?
NCLB was more of a reallocation than anything. A failed meritocracy more than anything.
Yes, it's never as simple as it seems. True. Much may be more perception than reality. That said, the lines still reinforce my points.
Why do you think I'm bagging on conservatives? While I vote split ticket, I've voted Rep far more than Dem. I'd really love to see moderates like Hermann Cain have made it, but he didn't. I don't like extremes of either side. Re guns, honestly, I could care less personally, but a ton of my friends care, so so be it. I don't see any advantage in taking them away either. I like Conservative positions on spending. Our debt is out of hand. I haven't updated this in years, but here it is again.
I just read this elsewhere and its perfect: Don't blame Costas for speaking stupidly, blame the mic.

You forgot Olberman is irrelevant as well as a bufoon.
This thread has really lost it's way. C'mon guys, did Costas stop being an idiot or something?
Back on point!
I agree with Costas and I voted for Romney...too many frickin guns......
I agree with Costas and I voted for Romney...too many frickin guns......
Yeah, you're right... nobody was ever killed before their invention. Taking them all away would ensure nobody would ever be killed again too.
Salzman took an unwarranted pot shot at Olberman, so I'm not taking sides on this stupid pissing match. For the record, Olberman stated "your conduct on twitter embarrasses the military".
The fool that replied at the bottom of that image you posted read it wrong too, and because that idiot has no reading comprehension, suddenly everyone simply took what he posted and ran with it.
Yeah, you're right... nobody was ever killed before their invention. Taking them all away would ensure nobody would ever be killed again too.
Yep, someone needs to tell that to the guy who's head was bashed in with a baseball bat and died in a town about 40 miles from me. We need to ban guns, knives, ropes, cars, bathtubs, stairs, windows, wet floors, icicles falling from rooftops, trees, animals with rabies, ice picks, screw drivers, chainsaws, any heavy object that can be swung and Chuck Norris.

Why did you start this thread again?

Back on point!
Here Here, I agree, I mean who is Bob Costas to give his opinion on Gun Control, Why I don`t give him advice on what he should wear from Victoria`s Secret, the nerve of some people :}-----On a More important note a more highly regarded person than Mr.Costas, Marine Sgt William Soutra Jr was awarded the Navy Cross at Camp Pendleton Ca, the Navy`s Highest Honor for the Marine Special Operator, I find stories about People who walk the walk more refreshing than Little self important blowhards who are removed from everyday obstacles that Life Presents, in particular those who defend our right to Keep & Bear arms
Well you and I are going to have to agree to disagree:)
Don't get me wrong, Olberman is a douchebag, a shock jock. He was a fool for even engaging with Salzman.
I still see a stupid pissing match that has much to do about nothing.

I have so much respect for veterans, maybe too much that I am blinded at times. Call me stupid I guess.

There are the good, the bad and the ugly. Simply being a veteran doesn't make you a good or honorable person. While I believe Salazar should be commended for what he has done and believe that he has sacrificed a lot for his country, it doesn't excuse him from acting like a "petulant child" and starting retarded internet wars.
Salazar made a slam against a political shock jock and directly linked the message to Olberman so he would see it. Did you really think a comment from someone as prolific as Salazar would go unanswered?

If the subject pertains to Salzman, he just made a comment. It may have not been in good taste, but I thought it quite humerous (being biased here because I dislike Oberman), being Oberman's track record. Oberman, in my view could have taken the high road, and just ignored the comment, but he didn't.

Costas made an idiotic remark and tried to push his personal agenda using the broadcast as his medium. Thats where I have an issue... His opinion is his own and he has every right to express it. ON HIS OWN DAMN TIME!!!! I do not think Costas or any other "media personality" should openly express an opinion on any damn thing on the air. They should broadcast the factual news and current events and get the hell of the tube so I can watch some football! Im tired of every TV personality or singer, pushing their bull**** on the public simply because they have the medium to do so. The TV networks should find a way to curb this crap...
Less BS.... More Football!!!!

If it weren't for alcohol, I would'nt have lost my keys saturday night. Now because of alcohol I had to pay a locksmith $135 to come to my car and make a new car key and on top of that my landlord hasn't returned my calls about new apartment, front gate and mailbox keys so I have to leave my apartment door unlocked and then hope one of my neighbors is home so they can buzz me into the building. This is all alcohol's fault. Prohibition needs to be reinstated.

i lean in agreement with this, as i don't have an issue with a newscaster expressing his/her opinions on any topic really, just make sure it's the appropriate venue.

I don't think that voting for Romney gives you any sort of 'justification' there my good man. Romney may have talked the talk during the campaign, but the man's actions as governor speak more about how he walks the walk than anything.
It's OK too...I don't get worried about folks that dislike guns. I just pray that they never find a situation in which they are forced to very quickly change their opinion, and are unprepared.
My best to you and yours Manfish,

People never murdered each other before there were guns and that's a fact. (sarcasm)
