What the phuck OP. Did you do slow reps or were you doing fast bursts?
I hope you get well soon, this kind of chit is sickening - I just did legs this morning.
-
Do you even calves op?
Wait......
-
OK... I would never thought that calf raise were so dangerous... I guess it is a good lesson for all lifters!
get well brah!

thanks op now more *******s will stop doing calf exercisses and have ****ty calves
not srs
-
Were you using bad form at the time this happened or what? I have a hard time thinking this would happen with slow and controlled reps. I do 6 plate calf raises. I now fear going heavy on calf raises now.
Good luck in recovering quickly OP!
-
if the tendon ain't bendin you're just pretendin
srsly though hope you have a speedy recovery OP, injuries suck.
-
Dude how did you even get pictures from surgery? Most hospitals don't give those out just to cover their arse if anything goes wrong. Lucky man. Take it easy though
-
never going back to the gym now
-
Lmao how does this even happen doing calf raises? I have never worried about this before
Now i'll be taking a chit when I go sit at that machine again...
Goodluck OP, hope you make a full recovery
-
inb4 the whole misc won't train their calves anymore
-
Pretty cool,
wonder how many proteins are in that juicy tendon right there.
-
This can happen from going to deep on the negative. I'm guessing he was bouncing the fuk out of the weights, too. I see guys load up the seated calf machine with 6 plates and bounce it like it's a cot damn baby on their lap. Lower the weight, slow down, and control that ****.
Some people **** up their achilles for no reason whatsoever. There's no real rhyme or reason to it.
lol @ people saying "never doing calf raises again".
I know a guy who hopped off the bed of his truck and partially tore his achilles.
brb never jumping again. drama queens. better stay inside and stick to your computers. it's safer.
ok but he was doing calf raises which put stress on the achilles.
he could have been using chit form and bouncing up and down.
also most people dont even stretch ever which could have caused this over time
-
Fukc I just did those today.... Wouldn't wish this on anyone
-
-
people still work out calves, its all genetics
dat feel when 16.5in calves, perfect size any bigger and it looks like a tumour on your leg
-
Wtf OP thread doesn't have enough gore tags I was taken by suprise negged.
Notsrs. Hope you get better soon OP.
-
just guna let genetics win good night sweet calf training
-
Brb never doing calf raises again
-
I would question the 4 months on crutches/in a wheelchair. For our surgical Achilles patients we start weight bearing as tolerated in a walking boot 6 weeks post-op, and even that is conservative. There are studies that show no increased rate of rerupture with immediate weight bearing post-op in a CAM boot, but also no benefit in regard to improved strength or return to activities. Achilles tendon ruptures suck, it's 6-12 months until return to sports.

Andy, that is gross
-
I know that feel bro. I ruptured my quad tendon, twice. The first time playing basketball. leg went fully numb and couldnt move. 2nd time was the physical therapist yanked my leg so hard trying to bend it, the quad tendon ruptured again! Now I have to go in for a 3rd knee surgery to clean out excess scar tissue.
Repped and good luck!
-
What kind of doc lets you take a pic mid surgery? Where's you get the procedure done ****ing Mexico?
