honestly, i think people don't take into account the rest of their lives when they want to diet. The first 10 or so weeks of my last cut was still during the uni semester, however I was fortunate enough to be on break when it started getting tough. I really can't fathom how much harder it would be to cut down to sub 10% during study period. When cutting is all you have to focus on it makes it easier to keep on pushing, despite getting harder and harder. Keeping yourself busy helps INSANELY too. I'd structure my day so that I'd have breakfast/ preWO, then straight to the gym then straight to work where I'd be up and about all day, then at the end of the day could retire to a nice big meal. Setting yourself a deadline really helps too, for me I had a coast trip planned with friends.
Personally I dropped fats quite low, twas only for a relatively short period of time and I found it really helped
I feels you on the keeping yourself busy part, but the part about thinking about the future is what gets me. It's like, am I REALLY only going to eat 'X' amount of calories for the rest of my life? (Obviously there will be days where not a single fuk is given but you know what I mean).
Sigh.
Liposuction. Eat all you want and tell people you just have a fast metabolism. Then give an attentive nod as they describe their glandular problem that keeps them hefty.
Strong paradox in cutting; what you need to do is simply eat LESS than you are used to, which practically speaking is a matter of NOT doing something rather than doing something, and still it's harder than bulking for most people.
In other words, it's all in your brains. So don't be too occupied with 'cutting' or 'dieting' and stay busy, have a reasonable diet, don't deprive yourself, keep going and it's a matter of time. Easier said than done, I know, but it's that simple.
