We do ham for everything. It's the family favorite.
Each year our turkeys get smaller. This year we barely ate any.
It's just there to legitimize the table as a "Thanksgiving table."
Cheers.
Edit: ham1'd.

Cold/leftover ham is the cold/leftover pizza of the edible meats family.
It's a delight.

Thanksgiving: the sodomized bird
Xmas: Roast Beef + various fish
MLK Day: KFC
Easter: Ham
Memorial Day: burgers and shiit
Columbus Day: spaghetti
All others GTFO, STFU and go FYF.

Ham is a very versatile meat.

Any of you festive fukers make corned beef and cabbage on st. Patties day? Hate dat shiz.

Few things are better than a big ol' ham, some cheesy potatoes, and whatever else goes with Christmas food. Cookies, I guess.
Then for a few days afterward, you get to have the best ham sandwiches and omelets. Or as kvk said, just straight out of the fridge. Delicious.
I don't mind doing it for Christmas and Easter. Totally worth it.

We used to do that 7 fish stuff. Thankfully that is no longer the case. We have seafood but it is more reasonable now.
wtf?
My fiance's former employer used to bring in fried chicken and watermelon for MLK Day. Apparently it was a "tradition" started by the owner of the company, and then continued to be observed unquestionably after his death. None of the current employees, including the new owner, seemed to understand why it was done - only that "Pete did it", so it must be okay. When my fiance asked if it was done as a joke she received blank stares. Pretty weird.

Despite my family's secularism we still celebrate Christmas. I think it's mainly because everyone else does and it we're always looking for an excuse to pop a couple bottles of nice wine and get together for a good meal.
How do you guys handle Christmas presents? I have to come up with a "list" for my Dad and my In-Laws. I really don't want anything. If I want something, I usually just buy it.
I just want to eat turkey, get drunk, and watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I don't care about material things, unless I can eat or drink the material.
I make a list in a word document and my wife gives it, or ideas from it, to anybody who wants one. I also keep an Amazon wish list.
We live 700 miles from our nearest family and don't get to do much for holiday celebration most of the year. We always drive back for a week for Thanksgiving and a week or two for Christmas. Due to pregnancy we won't be driving over Christmas this year, so all of that gift exchanging was done last week.
I just received this bad boy in the mail. Christmas gift from my parents that was ordered while I was there, to make sure it was the correct thing. Was hoping I'd get an excuse to post it in here
(obviously didn't pay retail or wait 5 weeks)

Kvk, you and I seem to be off to a good start this week.
Please don't mess it up by mentioning your love of people that look like they need a kick to the head.
Thanks. <3

I never understood why it's not OK for Catholics to eat meat on certain days, but it's open season on 10 year old wieners for Priests.

One day, when there's a Mrs. kvk, you'll understand that sometimes you have to do things that you don't want to. Now that we have a kid, I don't have to go to midnight mass, which is a giant bonus.

I find it humorous that 'resting for the playoffs', in week 12, with a 7-4 record, is the best excuse you can come up with for that ass whoopin'

I prefer leftover turkey over leftover ham. Post-thanksgiving samitches have to be one of my favorite things to eat.
This.
What would the Rant be if not at least a place to sew hatred and discontent? You and TAAB are carrying that pseudo-tradition along nicely. Well done.
I find it humorous that 'resting for the playoffs', in week 12, with a 7-4 record, is the best excuse you can come up with for that ass whoopin'
I can understand how the Giants put up 38 with Matthews and Woodson out on the GB D, but the other side of the coin isn't as clear-cut to me. Was there are a lot of GB's O-line on the sidelines too? Rodgers sacked 5 times and had his lowest rating on the year. He was under pressure on over half of his dropbacks.
Sounds like the Giants line showed up to play and GB didn't.

You probably only consume sub-par wine.
