Oh you got one of those "silver spoon fed" coonts too?
Swear bro, bishes never appreciate stuff.
EDIT... To caveat on this post:
I just got a part time job as a "cart pusher" making 10/hr while finishing up college. (Putting that great military and leadership experience to work here.) Told the gf about it and she got pissed because she has a (useless) degree making 8/hr. Her reasoning: "I do a lot more work than you do as a cart guy."
She's a barista at Starbucks.
....and I pay the bills as well. My generation... wtf?!
Damn ... The gas stations here even pay $10 an hour. $8 is pretty ****ing low.
Btw for anybody looking to start school and you have no preference on going back home, going to school in Colorado I get approximately $5000 grant money a semester on top of my GI Bill. (Pell Grant and Commitment to Colorado) You can apply for in state tuition immediately after changing plates and license, and a copy of a lease.
Eesh. That's a tough one. Granted, I'm still working on my degree, but I'm literally only doing it to get promoted, and for after the military. It does me no good any other way, nor will it for 6 more years until retirement. People get all confused over the importance of a piece of paper.
Word. I'm going into a "trade" of sorts dealing with programming PLCs and working with robotics and automation manufacturing settings. I switched to do this as soon as I found out you make more programming automation than you do as a chemist.

I agree, but she's not stuck working there. I can easily get her a job where I work making more per hour, but she just won't do it because she won't get that free coffee anymore. Seriously, that's her reasoning.

All the chem majors TAs at my school are planning on getting a PhD which is so much ****ing money spent on tuition and time.
I'm currently trying to decide if I want to switch to the business school and get a logistics degree which has great starting pay and salary stats from my school. Currently I'm in a bioscience degree, which if I dont get into med school I will likely have to go get a masters to make any decent money at all. From what I've been reading even biochem people are having a rough time finding jobs. I am pretty much done with my med school requirements so I need to make up my mind soon as I'm a junior , but only a few classes into my major.
Maybe I'll just apply to OCS after and subtly troll people in the Army until retirement if I get accepted.
Lmao wtf on the free coffee, buy her a $20 French press and get some Hershey's and caramel syrup. Bet she won't even be able to tell the difference.
Yes sir thats the one. I went to three different doctors they both said a surgery is only necessary if I cant get someone pregnant. When I asked them about military, they didnt know what to say. God help me
It feels funny tho, like boiled spagetti inside my left ball
That said first time I did a cock ultrasound, it was a female, she told me to drop my underwear and wait for her in some room (they do the same in brothels btw), I waited with my pants on, she came and said: "havent you told to take out your clothes!", told me to hold the tip of my dick as she press the machine on my ball.
10/10 experience, would do again
I've had that **** since like 17. I got in the Army.. IDFK. No real issues for me?

Idk man, but you can't go wrong with that at all. College chicks are easy. You already know they're immature, so its no surprise when they act like it.

Ah hell, I forgot all about these threads from my younger days/old username!
I have a question for you all, looking to get some info before I talk to a career counselor or recruiter: Any idea how difficult it is to direct commission into the medical corps from the IRR as a prior service enlisted? I don't have anything that would hold me back in MEPS as far as injury/psych chit. Just curious of the process, how to not potentially fuk myself over when talking to incompetent CCs/recruiters.
Keep fighting the good fight fellas. I'll poke my head in here more often now that I've found you all again!
Anyone waiting for the 7 list to drop?
Nope. (NG)Unit keeps trying to get me to check some boxes so they can make me a 6.
Yeah, so I can come in an extra hour earlier, stay like 2 hours later and deal with mountains of paperwork and bull s hit for a few extra bucks each month? No thanks. I'm pretty happy not having my own desk and just showing up at report time and asking "What's going on today?"

Yes, I was there for 15T AIT. Since it's a joint base, Air Force gave it a makeover and gave the army new AF standard barracks.

On Saturday my NG brigade, 86TH IBCT (MOUNTAIN), the Army's only Mountain IBCT, officially re-patched as essentially the 4th Brigade of 10th Mountain Division as part of the new regional alignment program.
A NG brigade wearing 10th mountain on the left sleeve.
I'm actually mad, our Brigade patch is awesome.

I checked USAWTFM and the ceremony isn't on it. Also, I wore OCP so I wouldn't have to stand in the formation.
California Soldiers Must Repay Enlistment Bonuses
Nearly 10,000 California National Guard soldiers have been ordered to repay huge enlistment bonuses a decade after signing up to serve in Iraq and Afghanistan, a newspaper reported Saturday.
The Pentagon demanded the money back after audits revealed overpayments by the California Guard under pressure to fill ranks and hit enlistment goals. If soldiers refuse, they could face interest charges, wage garnishments and tax liens, the Los Angeles Times said.
Faced with a shortage of troops at the height of the two wars, California Guard officials offered bonuses of $15,000 or more for soldiers to reenlist.
A federal investigation in 2010 found thousands of bonuses and student loan payments were improperly doled out to California Guard soldiers. About 9,700 current and retired soldiers received notices to repay some or all of their bonuses with more than $22 million recovered so far.
Soldiers said they feel betrayed at having to repay the money.
"These bonuses were used to keep people in," said Christopher Van Meter, a 42-year-old former Army captain and Iraq veteran who was awarded a Purple Heart. "People like me just got screwed."
Van Meter said he refinanced his home mortgage to repay $25,000 in reenlistment bonuses and $21,000 in student loan repayments that the military says was improperly given to him.
"At the end of the day, the soldiers ended up paying the largest price," Maj. Gen. Matthew Beevers, deputy commander of the California Guard told the Times. "We'd be more than happy to absolve these people of their debts. We just can't do it. We'd be breaking the law."
The Pentagon agency that oversees state Guard groups has said that bonus overpayments occurred in every state, but more so in California, which has 17,000 soldiers.
California Guard officials said they are helping soldiers and veterans file appeals with agencies that can erase the debts. But soldiers said it's a long process and there's no guarantee they'll win.
Retired Army major and Iraq veteran Robert D'Andrea said he was told to repay his $20,000 because auditors could not find a copy of the contract he says he signed.
D'Andrea appealed and is running out of options.
"Everything takes months of work, and there is no way to get your day in court," he said. "Some benefit of the doubt has to be given to the soldier."
Retirement investing is a multi-decade approach. Hell, if normal funds plummet, it just means active duty is buying lots more shares for the same $$ every month :D
