Rather than sitting back and leaning forward as necessary you sit straight down between your feet, basically, while staying as vertical as possible.
-
Yeah, my back is bent quite a bit now that I watch them again. Will work on it.

Ran out of room JUST before I started my first set, but I got some good footage of my friend's kid playing in the Johnny Jump Up so I left that in for about 10-15 seconds. Deleted some older vids and was able to record the last two sets with no problems.

lol
I have a wonderful ability to really focus and block everything out when I need to. Not just in lifting, but every day life. Kind of like Kevin Costner in For the Love of the Game when he is like "clear the mechanism" and all the external distractions just disappear:

excellent bench and deads! Cool to see the front squats make an appearance!
I was going to suggest trying to stay more upright, but it's already been mentioned. Forward lean likes to make the bar roll forward on me big time

It's been a while since I set PRs on 3 different exercises. Feels really good.
Alright, so at what point do I stop microloading? If it takes me 2 sessions to increase my bench/press by 2.5 lbs. would I be better off deloading and trying to come back with 5 lb. jumps and try to improve a little faster? Or do I just keep on going like I have been?
Baby comes tomorrow. Not sure when my next workout will be, but I imagine it will be terrible since I will be on little to no sleep. Can't wait.
-
Triple PRs! Nice work!
Microloading is a good scheme but since you're going to be taking a break for the newborn, perhaps a little reset on everything would be more fitting
Go to bed early and Get a good night sleep tonight because it'll be your last for awhile!
Good luck and congrats for tomorrow!

3 prs, incredible man!
you're really looking beefy and studly in those vids my man. super hawt. you're posts/logs are always inspiring, and i totally mean that, not just blowing your skirt up over here.
have fun w/ the baby pr tomorrow! :D

Thanks guys. I'm taking the week off work and will definitely spend 1 if not 2 nights in the hospital. I should be able to get at least one workout in before the wife and baby come back from the hospital. After that I will just have to find a way to squeeze in a session here and there.

you've certainly made the best use of the time you've been lifting, incredible results so far. no doubt you'll kill it when you are able to afford the time and find a groove again.

In before the little one is squatting 2x BW!

Jesus man. Your squats are stronger than mine now  Need to catch up!
Sick PR's.
Power clean should be stronger with those squats. Keep working on those.
Press strength is getting up there.

Thanks :)
I was really struggling with my power clean form a while back, and so I basically started over with them at 135. They are feeling much better now and I hit a new PR today without even struggling really.

You could throw in some front squats if your having trouble with the bar landing on shoulders properly. They will allow you do just catch the bar w/ your shoulders/chest shelf. It looks like you aren't getting a proper landing. Elbows need to move faster imo. Just catch the weight there and use more anger/explosiveness/jump.
I dunno the exact name difference. But have you tried the "full clean" whee you catch it at the bottom, then front squat up? Or is that not what the program recommends?
-
I did front squats for the first time ever on Friday. I'm going to start doing these on all A days because the back squats were too tiring on my lower back before deadlifts. I definitely think they will help me get more comfortable racking my cleans. I have noticed that I'm not fully racking the weight, but haven't yet actively worked on getting my elbows up sooner - will have to try that next time.
Program doesn't call for full cleans. I think I would not be comfortable doing them in the space that I have. I would want more room to jump back out from under the weight on failed reps, which I just don't have in my basement right now.

Nailed it. Back felt great then, still feels great now.
Notes:
Awesome session considering. I literally went home, picked up some stuff for the baby, lifted, showered, changed, and left in like 90 minutes. I started doing front squats, but decided that I didn't care enough about them to actually do any worksets.
I was dreading this workout knowing that I would be on no sleep and my mind would be elsewhere, but I was still able to set a bench PR and deadlift with ease - deadlift PRs on surely on their way, also very happy with my grip strength on these.
-
Any session with a new born is win And you nailed a bench PR! Kickass job!
When are mama and baby due home?

Thanks, everyone should come home tomorrow. The little guy is getting his winky whacked today once the doc gets to her rounds, so I want to make sure I am here after that just in case he wants to have another man around to talk to about it. :p

Hey man great work. Just letting you know I'm still here following :)
Is that DOH grip on deads? Pretty good for 355.
Too bad you don't care enough about front squats to do them. They're one of the best exercises you can do. Just don't use a belt pls.

Yeah, DOH on deads with chalk. Before I reset I had to use straps at 345+ so I'm really happy with my grip. Holding my last rep for as long as I can has been helping I think.
Why no belt for fronts???
