Yup. I got rid of my cows because I was having to haul water. 1 cow consumes 62-68 gallons of water per day.
My cousin and a couple of my buddies are getting back in as a type this. Mamma cow's and heifers are freaking expensive, but you can pay them off after their 1st or 2nd calf. Just depends on the market. The features look good at this point.
That's crazy tex I had no idea a cow could drink that much. What does the average cow weigh?

The news just reported that it is now the wettest May on record. Got another 2-3 inches of rain last night in Dallas. Here are some photos:

Imagine that! LOL I was awakened with rolling thunder, flashing lightning, and pounding rain. Just another normal day in Texas this May! :)
That's crazy tex I had no idea a cow could drink that much. What does the average cow weigh?
Depends on the age and breed. Typically between 1200 and up to 1800 lbs. A good heard bull will weigh around 2000 lbs.
Having been around cattle all my life, I didn't know they drank that much water either. I learned real quick when I started hauling water. :D

I saw some pics and vids around the Dallas area and it's not a pretty sight. Stay safe Paolo.

The last two days have been the worst here in Dallas. It is amazing how many folks just don't take the simple and timely advice: "Turn Around, Don't Drown!" :( There are roads flooded here this morning that have never flooded before. Ha! I was supposed to attend the faculty picnic this afternoon... at a little place called Sandy Lake Amusement Park. LOL I just bet it's under water right about now.

It amazes me that people are still fcking stupid enough to drive through deep water.

You just brought back some old memories. I didn't know Sandy Lake park was still there.
The two lakes that provide water for Wichita Falls were at 19% capacity a month ago. Both are over the spillway today. It is stunning that we've gone from a devastating record drought to devastating record flood in less than a month.

Ha! There are some folks who think that a pickup truck has special powers. I have seen on the local news instance after instance of just that. :( There are only two dead here in Dallas from the flooding I believe.

Meanwhile, down in Texas:

Hmmmmm. Who is Houston? Rain is such an odd nickname too.
