just choke it down, pussy.
less water... depending on the protein can make it more thick and "milk like" i tend to use about 7 1/2 ounces when only using water.
Also some proteins just taste better...
you can always throw a splash of milk in but i find less water helps.
I've only tried one protein supplement so far, BioTech's vanilla and it tastes great with water, don't know whether it's just me, though :)
I need to mix it with milk, vainilla with water sucks so bad
3 packs of sweet n low
There are tons of things you can add to whey that will make it taste better.
Heavy Cream
Peanut Butter
Fruit
Oats
Milk
Eggs/egg whites
Or try making protein pudding. Put your powder into a bowl and add HOT water (it seems to mix better with hot water for me). Add some fats if you want like peanut butter or heavy cream (the heavy cream REALLY makes it taste better). Stir, eat. Or, before you eat it, throw it in the freezer for a little bit to make it cold.
Or, just buy a better tasting brand. I have yet to taste anything by Beverly International that I didn't like (though they are pretty expensive).
If you're stuck with a powder you just hate, then just stand over the sink and gulp that stuff down. Have some sugar-free Kool Aid on hand to chase it with so you don't puke in the sink. :) I've done this many times in the past, but I've found that with some experimentation you don't have to hate your protein shakes. I actually look forward to my post-workout meals of Muscle Provider with milk and ground oats. :)
i love my current chocolate mint flavour - impact whey protein
@caa5000 - i dont understand most of your post, not sure if you do?
i do use whey, i know its cheaper, thats why
i dont want to use carbs cause i dont eat a lot
pancakes contain carbs
besides, of course i can drink it even if i dislike it, once, twice, a week, a month, but i use 2x50g per day (at least) as my inbetween snacks for xxx time, so it really should taste decent, i grew out of the age where i ate and drink every **** simply cause it is good for my body
I'm glad you agree that it's cheaper.
you need carbs to shuttle protein to the muscles and provide an insulin boost so your body is more receptive to said protein.
as for the pancakes comment... if you're sick of your whey protein shake tasting ****ty, add it to pancake mix. follow these steps (of course, disregard if you think you don't need to add SOME carbs PWO):
1)mix whey into pancake mix
2)mix said mix with water
3)dribble onto heated pan
the moral of the story: Add carbs to your protein, it increases protein synthesis.

I don't know if you're attempting to stay in ketosis, in that case you should be throwing at 10g of carbs into a PWO shake.
If you're just keeping carbs low, no reason NOT to add 1:1 carbs to protein PWO. You can save 25g for that, right?
Here's my whey strategy:
1. I keep a good juice protein (Ergopharm GF Pro, before it was canceled) on hand for variety.
2. I also keep some plain or vanilla whey in quantity- 5-10 lbs.
3. Last, I have several flavors of Muscle Milk on hand.
Then during the week I can choose either the juice protein or one scoop of MM in the plain whey. The flavor is strong enough to make a scoop of plain taste good (esp. Dark Chocolate, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Strawberry.)
This way you have several different flavors to choose from and are less prone to get bored. I haven't yet. If it's not sweet enough, add a packet of stevia.
If it's the texture that bothers you, and your diet protocols allow, try adding a bit of half and half, peanut/almond/chestnut butter, fruit, or macadamia oil.
