LOL
Nancy Pelosi is that you?
"we need to pass the bill to see what's in it."
Games dont work like that, if you wait till its about to be released, it is far too late.

Only extra money I'm spending on any game is on candy crush for lollipop hammers and other boosters.
-
Oh, no, I have to spend money to spray paint dicks all over my car.
THE HORROR!
-
I don't really see the big deal..
This isn't new to gaming, and it's not like you need to do it anyways. It'll make beating those who bought in to it even sweeter.

Yeah it's not that new. EA has been doing it for a while. But other then EA not many games that you buy for retail $60 have pay to win in them. Free to play games are supposed to have pay to win. Not games you already paid full price for.
-
Are you surprised? This is the same company that released a game that's clearly not meant for this Gen of consoles. They are going to release it again on new Gen and get all the suckers to buy it twice. You are just realizing that they are money grabbing? Lol

This, welcome to the new world of gaming. They make FAR more $ from this model than the sub model. Thats why almost no games anymore do it expect WoW, Eve Online, ect. that have been around before the pay to play model.

Rockstar said no GTA 5 for next gen consoles already

Why the **** couldn't they just make it require a $10-$15 online pass. ****ing hate pay to win with a passion. i guess free online sounded too good to be true

Source that this way makes more money??
Wildstar Online and Elder Scrolls online are both going to be subscription based, if pay to win was the best model I wonder why a lot of these new MMO's are not going that way.
IIRC the new final fantasy MMO is also subscription based.

Phuck you, source?

Alot of games are mixing subscription based and item shops... but they keep the item shop part hidden
WoW is already testing ingame XP-potion stores in its PTRs

A lot of times the subscription games have cosmetic items you can buy yeah, but pay to win in a game you already paid for is pretty rare. I also like how Rockstar didn't mention this before the game came out.
-
Lol I don't believe that at all without a source
The reason was because itll take a while for the amount of next gen owners to rise
-
I hate pay 2 win ****; that is what ruined Diablo 3 for me. It's not about me being poor, I could easily afford to deck the **** out of my character and rape people, its the principle. The neck beards who put hours upon hour into their game and earn all the good gear should be the ones who come out on top. Paying money to unlock stupid **** like skins, textures, radio stations, etc etc now that's fine by me.

"Still, it’s understandable if Rockstar does not want to make that information public when they’re focused on getting the existing version out the gate – but it’s equally likely that there are currently no fixed plans to bring the title to PS4 and Xbox One."
Long story short, they probably will. Or if not PSN will have it for download for the PS4. It wont look any better, but should be less laggy.
-
Sucks about the pay to win route they took. Would rather they do micro-transactions for cosmetic. Don't see myself bothering with this.

Look at the install base of the 360 and PS3. GTAV was meant for this gen. Looking at the game its clear they really put a lot of research into how to fully utilize both of the systems. The game has been in development for years as well only focusing on current gen.
Even if they released it for next gen, the money they would make won't even be a fraction of what they made for current gen sales.

Idk apparently PS4 and PC files have been found in the code. Does that not indicate anything?

I don't doubt they'll release another version of the game sometime in the future, what I have issue with is him saying the game is "clearly not meant for this Gen of consoles"
-
Good thing the PS3 Brotherhood is all CEO 10k/day

I think he meant that as in the game doesn't belong on the current gen, as in even though they did their best to optimize it, it still plays like garbage and would be much better on the next gen and PC.
And don't try and tell me that 20-30 frames is not garbage.

EA Has done it for a long time, big one I remember being NHL 11 or something like that, where you could boost your player for online.
Same thing with Madden, or Tiger Woods, or Capcom adding things that are on disc. Skyrim and Oblivion have done it, it's not new at all, its common and just gives you things you don't need, but if you want to be able to then why not?
Why the **** couldn't they just make it require a $10-$15 online pass. ****ing hate pay to win with a passion. i guess free online sounded too good to be true
Becasue the online pass doesn't mean anything. GTA Online is free with every copy of GTA 5, because it's essentially their multiplayer mode from the game. The "paying" isnt mandatory, its option for those who want to do it. Requring to pay to play online wont eliminate the feature of people purchasing in game items to advance their character.
That being said, I really, really dont understand the hate. People are more than happy to exploit GTA V to get money (just google or look on the threads here for NUMEROUS ways people have shared), yet everyone gets mad when they say "hey, you can pay to get more money in game if you want". I don't really see the disadvantage, considering some of us already are at a disadvantage.
What about those who work more than others. The people who have no job and play all day will already be further ahead of everyone else anyways, isn't that unfair? They have an advantage over most because they can spend their time online and play the game as much as they want, while others who have other commitments cant.
It's really not an issue at all. Don't want it, dont buy it. No one is forcing you to do anything.
-
When did Skyrim or oblivion do this? They don't have pay to win stuff, IIRC they had DLC's yeah but not anything you can buy in game, unless I'm totally forgetting something. ^
Anyway if you don't see the issue from this then you're pretty blind lol, Diablo 3 was basically ruined because of this same thing.

do people actually struggle to make money in this game? Im sitting at 1.6m and I just completed the first heist. Nothing to spend it on so il keep hustlin'

single player =/= online

That would be pretty f'ed up considering all that money that have made. Would not pay for it/10
-
I highly doubt this is true, since this isn't EA we're talking about here
But if it is true lol

It's not rockstar doing it. It's TAKETWO, the owner of Rockstar.
They had pay to win stuff in Max Payne 3 so this isn't the first time actually.
... It'll make beating those who bought in to it even sweeter.
Ha! The sweetness would be even more insatiable if you could rob them for the virtual money that they spent their real money to get!!
Imagine randomly murdering another character, taking the money they dropped and getting a butt-hurt message from them through XBL or PSN crying about how they spent their allowance on buying that money from the Social Club...trollololol
Unfortunately, this dream of mine's won't happen, based off of what OP posted earlier: "All purchased cash is automatically deposited into your characters bank account." This is the one advantage that slightly irritates me.... I have to keep my head on a swivel while completing a heist, etc, get to the games virtual bank (through my phone I hope; driving to a branch or an ATM to do the deposit would make the risk of dieing even heavier), and deposit my hard earned virtual money, to make sure you *******s don't kill/rob me of it; while, some pansy can just buy their money, have all they need for upgrades, etc with NO risk of it being taken from them....
