^^^ Dip stand looks good. Repp'd. How sturdy is it?
Pretty sturdy. I noticed last night as I was using it that it was having some slight give here and there, but a few more strategically placed screws should do the trick.
I sold most of my stuff including my power rack, bench, iron weights and other equipment. That gave me room for this setup.

Do you even need to take the rings down or do you always leave them up. I put webbing and carabiners on mine to quickly move them out of the way.

I just finished setting everything up, but I'll need to remove the rings. I plan on picking up some carabiners and climb-spec runners and doing the same thing as you. Standing on my tippy toes and trying to pull the webbing out through the small gap on the eye bolt is not going to work.
I took it apart as much as I could. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), the base is welded to the vertical pipes. Because of how the support pipes are situated, I was about an inch off no matter how I tried to wiggle it through. Short of dismantling the framing of the door on my house or hacksawing the vertical leg press apart, I think I'm out of options. Neither of those sound too appealing. I know you can do sleeves inside the pipe if I hacksaw it apart, but I'm seeing 6 sleeves that would have to be put on, so along with all the bolts and such that I'd have to purchase, the price of this piece is going up rapidly. Anyone have other ideas?
It was a major fail on my part for not taking better measurements.
ah i was picturing a different kind of leg press. can you remove the headrest? that should give clearance enough no?
ah i was picturing a different kind of leg press. can you remove the headrest? that should give clearance enough no?
Yup, I should have mentioned that earlier. My attempts were all with the headrest removed. I've been toying with the idea of hacking it apart and then putting sleeves in all the tubes and bolting it back together. I'd like to have one down there, but I'm also aware that I can substitute leg press work by doing more variations of squats, which would probably be better anyway.

Done! And the eye bolts are only rated for 150 lbs each, but they feel like they'll be fine.

i sold the jacobs ladder. i have a climber that almost feels the same as the jacob's so it i got some space back. i traded it for a ringside 8 heavy bag stand i plan to use in the workout shed i'm going to build one day. i also got some cash out of the deal. not too shabby. i also replaced my inversion table with a smaller one that is easier on my knees and ankles. i am hanging like you would from a monkey bar without the stresses so that works :) to round out what i did:

Matrix, the gym looks good. Getting rid of the Jacob's Ladder really opened the hall by the stairs up. It looks like it's overall easier to walk through, so I think that you suceeded a little in freeing up clutter. Nice job.

thanks. it wasn't easy to do and alot of work. i wanted to put the lockers where the attachment tree was, and put a peg board above the hallway bench where the ankle machine is now for the smith attachments, but the heavy bag stand i have inside now the leg was too long for the locker. i plan on putting some more horse mats in the hallway just to make it look like the rest of the gym but nothing else will go in the hallway. i'll also find a better place to put the weight scale than in the hallway. i want the hallway free of all stuff :).
the captains dip chair was redundant since i can do the same kind of hanging ab work on my ab flyer. plus i saved more space by reacquiring my dip bars for the super bench from my friend. he wasn't using them really and they were wasting away on his porch. thats why i just let him have all the stuff i was letting him borrow :p. he does like doing pullups with the bench though :).
at some point i'm a hire someone to help me mount some of my mirrors up. i'd do it but i already know my klutzy self would break them :p

Is that a low celing or a high rack???
Is that a low celing or a high rack???
I'm assuming that's 86" standard height.
It's an 8' ceiling because of the clearance above the doors. I was laughing because of where he has the bar, I'm 5'8" and would near a step ladder to get it down, lol.
Nice setup DrForce.
did you buy everying new?
Yes, everything was new. There is not a good used market where I live, and I had specific things that I wanted to get. I like to buy things once and be done.

Thanks.
Yes the ceiling is just shy of 8 feet. It's actually 94 inches which is the same height as the rack. The ceiling isn't totally level, but at the shortest place, you can stick a few pieces of paper between the ceiling and the rack, but it is a tight fit and just misses the ceiling. The ceiling is too short to put the barbell in the bar holders on the back of the rack, but I've heard that horizontal storage is better for barbells anyway.

i know what you mean by wanting specific things. You picked some really nice stuff.
345 lbs enough?

345 lbs enough?
For now yes. I'm coming from years of using machines (started 14 years ago with a soloflex!) it will take me some time to adjust to the increased demands of free weight workouts. It'll be a great day when I have to buy more Ivanko plates because I don't have enough. :)
Added two more pieces to the gym yesterday. Got them for next to nothing, a spider/preacher and a 90 degree bench.
The bench is small, which is prefect for my space
