I saw them as well but after I finished with the book I watched again; u can see the speeds they were pulling up those hills and how everybody seems to be attacking left and right.
Anyone watch Bikemanforu on Youtube? He's restoring an old Schwinn. He's quite the character.

Got a nice easy 40 miles in yesterday between rain showers. Almost time to look into arm warmers, a little brisk.

What do you guys thing, disc brakes on a road bike?

I must say I have never needed to get on the brakes that hard that I have thought damn these suck, wish I had disc brakes. Downhill bike different story.
I don't see changing from the rim brake wheel for a while.

My father and I have been looking into road biking for a while now and looks like we're close to picking what we are going to get. Diamondback Podium 2
http://www.diamondback.com/2012-podium-2
Have researched it but does anybody on here have any input on this bike?
Was considering buying a 29er single speed but since I have had this frame hanging in the garage for years I've decided that i am going to build into a single speed. I have the original matching rigid fork but it is threaded. probably going to buy a new threadless rigid fork to make it a rigid single speeder.

Hopefully pulling the trigger on a 2013 Specialized Rockhopper.
They also have a 2012 Rockhopper Comp for $100 more, but I really have no idea if it'd be worth the extra money.

I'd go with the 2013 Comp if you can afford it. The fork is an upgrade to the Suntour pogo stick. My 29er came with the XC28 and it was a decent fork. Definitely better than an entry-level Suntour.
Also, in that price range look at Airborne Bicycles.

Much more bike for the money.
Fuuuuuuuuu read title as "Recycle brahs"
FU OP
I have a few fixed gear brakeless bikes and nothing is better than riding downtown during rush hour flying through traffic.
I can't embed, but this is my 08 GT DHI.
Quite a few upgrades since this pic though.
I don't see the need for disc brakes on road bike...
Bicycle brah checking in. Had a massive crash last last weekend doing about 45kmh on a trail, got like 30 stitches in my leg, elbow and had.
Fuarking sucks cant ride or lift....

Repped! I just bought a Trek 3500 Disc last Saturday. Haven't been on a bike in years, feels great to ride again. Nothing huge compared to what I see on here, but I've gone 50km in two rides.

Lol, MTB season has apparently arrived! I have to wait until next summer to get a new MTB though... Ski season is taking all of my money now.
My A race of the year a Century ride is Saturday. The longest ride I've done is a 70 miler so I feel a little undertrained. I would have like to get an 80 miler in there but here I am.
Peppering my angus all week
My body is ready
good luck brah, hammer it!

I wish. Sucks that I'll be getting one closer to winter. But I want to get a starter one now and then save up over the winter to buy more bikes.

It makes sense. I can see these being used on aero carbon rims to deal with heat issues during hard braking.
Cyclocross bikes have had them for a while, right?
was riding my fixie bike yesterday and fuark brahs this dumb **** doesn't look while turning i had to push myself off my bike to save myself and that ***got i tell him wtf man watch where you drive and he just shrugs it off
