So Jordan says he would take Kobe of Lebron.
I call BS.
IMO he says that because he knows Kobe is the same type player as he was and if you compare Kobe to Jordan there is no contest. Jordan does everything better. On theother hand, Lebron has a different game and Does do other things better than Jordan.
So someone could say Lebron is better than MJ
So by discounting the possibility that Lebron is even as good as Kobe, MJ tries to diffuse this scenario.
To me the more interesting debates are
Magic vs Lebron
Hakeem vs Ewing vs Shaq
Dncan vs Barlkey vs Malone
Stockton vs I Thomas
sidekick debate: pippen vs Dwade

James vs. Magic - wow would that be an awesome match-up to watch - Magic was a more prolific passer and James a more prolific scorer, but I think Magic could have scored 30 at will and James could have 10+ assists at will. Both terrific defenders.
Hakeem - but what about David Robinson?
Duncan - 4 beats 0 every time :)
Stockton
Pippen

I still think Duncan wins it, but I was amazed at Malone's stats:
"Career Stats: 25 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.4 steals, 51.6 FG%, 74.2 FT%
Career Achievements: 2x NBA MVP, 14x NBA All-Star, 11x All-NBA First Team, 3x All-Defensive First Team
He's got the second-most points in the history of the league, a few MVP Awards and more trips to the All-Star Game than most guys have spent years in the league, but he's always going to be remembered as the guy who couldn't beat Michael."
Pretty damn impressive.

No Pun intended eh?
Lebron vs MJ?
On SC yesterday they compared the two, Jordan has more points over his career at the point LJ is at now 600+ games they have played and jordan had around 27,000 points and LJ has 21,000
Besides that LJ has better stats regarding everything else and less rings compared to Jordan.
They also claimed LJ has more strength, size, and agility compared to Jordan.. time will tell who is better, but the one thing that people will have a hard time doing is winning as many MVP's and Titles are Jordan did.

Too much evidence, he really doesn't have a leg to stand on.
Also, why does everybody forget about Kareem? GOAT? No, but worthy of being in a top 5 discussion.

If we are talking greatest of alll time
then we include wilt, russell, oscar above most of those guys
Id take those centers over any post 70s and oscar over all Gs not named Jordan (and maybe Lebron, def ahead of Magic)
The other great debate for "my era"...Best team
80s Lakers (Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Scott, etc.)
80s Celtics (DJ, Ainge, Bird, Mchale, Parish)
90s Bulls (MJ, Pippen, Rodman,Kerr, etc)
2000s Lakers (Shaq, Kobe, Fisher, Horry, etc)
2000s Spurs (Duncan, Robinson, Elliot to Ginobli and Manu)
current Heat (LBJ, Dwade, Bosh, etc)

Also had our HS scrimmage. Reg season starts next week. Are you playing somewhere?

MJ was underrated in other facets of the game. They said he couldn't drop threes and he went out, practiced them, and actually became a long-range threat. His rebounds and assists per game aren't too far off LBJ's but MJ was one of the best defenders to play the game. MJ was a total and complete package. I don't think LBJ is necessarily better than MJ at any part of the game with the exception of passing but MJ was a damn good passer.
And I don't think it's too farfetched for MJ to pick Kobe over LBJ. Kobe has 5 rings, and he's also regarded as one of the best scorers to ever play the game. But, I'm a Lakers fan, so there is that bias.

And now they are saying KG to LAC for Bledsoe and Jordan
Duke goes down
Braun linked to PED trail (wow, shocked, not)
Dunk Contest: It is so annoying that a guy misses adunk 4-5x then gets it and they still give him 50s.
Not one of those guys starts in the league and none other than Bledsoe/Farhed even play.

NBA top Ten at the Break
1. Heat- Lebron having MVP year, Dwade being hugely overlooked
2. Spurs- the always under the radar team. Duncan having DPoY type season, Parker and Maunu finally healthy
3. Thunder- KD, Westbrook, Ibaka, Perk, etc provides deep top 5
4. Clips- CP3 healthy again, Blake rounding out game, KG trade talks looming
5. Randolph and Gasol provide inside, Allen/Prince the D, Conley runs the show
6. Knicks- Melo having his best year, Felton and Kidd are the playmakers, Amare back, Chandler as good as any1 on D.
7. Bulls- even w/o Rose they have talent
8. Nuggets- you better plan on scoring 100 vs them to win
9. Warriors- Lee and Curry are play at All-star levels
10. Pacers- another under the radar team with George, Hibbert (an actual big), Hill and West
MCAA
1. Canes- yes I believe they play as good as any team even if they weren't a preseason fav
2. Hoosiers- Big, strong, tough schedule
3. Florida- dominating the SEC
4. MSU- took down in state rival Michigan this week
5. Zags- I remember when they were the underdog team
6. Duke- lost today but still final 4 potential
7. Michigan- plenty of talent between hardaway, Robinson etc
8. Louisville- big game tomorrow
9. Gtown- fling under the radar
10. Kansas- even if the coach wants to say his team stinks
MLB
1. Angels
2. Tigers
3. Braves
4. Dodgers
5. Jays
6. Yanks
7. Giants
8. Nats
9. Reds
10. Rays

NOW there's talk of Bledsoe for Millsap which is more plausible due to KG's unwillingness to leave beantown.
Ross deserved it and I'm not saying this as a raps fan. The only "props" he needed were a VC jersey and the son of Twitter's CEO. Btw he gets some pretty good playing time unlike guys like Evans and the grounded Flight who are stapled to the pine.

I'd say so. Although in the long run I'm hoping IU wins it all just to get the brand name back to where it once was.

No faves this year.

Yes sir. Play for Belmont University in Nashville. Swept the weekend against Valparaiso, Ohio and then Valparaiso again. We have Vanderbilt on Tuesday and then head to Athens to play UGA before going to Knoxville for a mid week against Tennessee.
-
So according to MJ, the only players of the postDream Team era that could even hang with the top players of his era are
1. LBJ
2. Kobe
3. Dirk
4. Duncan
really?
Durant, CP3, KG, Kidd, Nash, Shaq, Wade
None of those guys could hang?
Thoughts?

Indiana comes away with a HUGE win @ MSU... what a good game.
Indiana comes away with a HUGE win @ MSU... what a good game.
indeed it was
Because there isn't much else going on, I call all to post their all-time teams (must be from their viewing life-time-->seen them play)
Today is MLB
-player must have played the position-->so no 3 Centerfielders to make up your OF and
-Place in batting order
RF- Ichiro- guy has one of the most underrated arms for any RF (strog and accurate), didn't even get to spend his entire prime here, won multiple batting titles, stole bases
*SS- Arod- will hit 700HRs, was great defensively in his prime, routinely over .300BA
CF- Griffey- would have been the best of all-time if not for injury. Complete player both offensively and defensively
*LF- Bpnds- records, records and more records. 40/40.
1B- Pujols- Model of consistency hitting low 300s with 30_ HRs, and tops in RBI
*DH- Ortiz- taking him over Molitor and Edgar due to dominance
2b- Roberto Alomar-
*C- Pudge- best arm of all-time, was the greatest hitting catcher of his era (with Piazza)
3B- Cal Ripken- the streak, played forever, great numbers on not so good teams, class act
Rotation
*Clemens- greatest of is era, feared, longevity
Randy Johnson- most feared and imposing pitcher of his era and maybe of all-time
Pedro- If I had to take 1 guy to win me one game, it would have been him
Maddux- cerebral, longevity, won more Gold Gloves than anyone
Nolan Ryan- Strikeouts, no-no's, insane longevity
Closer
Mariano- No debate here. GOAT by far and even more-so in the postseason,
Set up Man
K-Rod (in 2002 season)
*The asterisks stand for what you think they do.
Manager: LaRussa- not as many titles as Torre but was a better strategist and didn't have as much talent o work with, won with multiple teams
Hitting Coach- Duncan
Pitching Coach: Mazzone
GM: Beane- did more with less, revolutionized what stats were perceived as important
Owner: Steinbrenner- Ill take the guy willing to spend in a no-cap league
-
Duncan is a pitching coach not a hitting coach. Splitting hairs but cal only played third at the end of his career. Arod spent way more of his career at third
