Might not be a terrible Idea. If you're nutrition and head is back in the game I think you'll be alright regardless honestly.
I'll see how I feel. I don't think i'm going to be able to get my workout in today and will have to push it to tomorrow morning. I'm going to go with the weight I used last time I tried to hit with my squat and bench, 290x5 squat, 220x5 bench.

Since you're going back a few weeks, why don't you use the Friday weights of the week prior to that?

So Friday's weights for week 3?
So Friday's weights for week 3?
No, Friday's weights for week 2 today/tomorrow. That way, you're truly setting yourself up for next week - doing week 3's weights - correctly.
It probably doesn't matter much, but it'd be good for you to have a light day to end the week instead of 290x5 squat and 220x5 bench.
What's up guys. I don't even know where to start.
Yesterday was the gym day but as usual this stress from my marriage is just effecting my training and nutrition. I landed up getting to the gym at 8pm last night and stood there till 10pm.
I just mentally didn't feel strong and it showed physically. I hit a 5RM deadlift but I just didn't feel strong with my pulls at all.
Still right now i'm just stressed and completly out of everything right now.
Here is my workout from last night.
1/23/13
Squats
145x5
180x5
215x5
215x5
OHP
90x5
105x5
125x5
150x2 New PR in weight but didn't get the required reps
Deads
235x5
280x5
325x5
375x5 New 5RM PR
I did some other accessory work that I didn't really care to track. It consisted of some seated cable face pulls, overhead cable tricep extensions, DB hammer curls and DB shurgs.
Like I said I was just out of it but happy to have hit 375x5 on my pulls even though that sh!t felt heavy as fuk.
Idk I just feel stuck in this fuking grave I dug and look forward to the gym but when i'm there i'm just not fully mentally and physically in it.
Blah whatever. Hope you guys have a good Thursday.
Fukkkk you just keep nailin' it bro. Good job for real.
I get what you feel man, just gotta keep the mind right even though it seems impossible. Keep it up and stay strong!!!

What's up guys. Tonight I was back in the gym and my plan was to finish some unfinished business, well I did that partly lol.
The goal was to hit 290x5 for my squat & 220x5 for my bench. I hit a new 5RM PR with my squat @ 290x5 but 220x5 on the bench fell short again @ 220x3
Idk what's holding me back on my bench. Upper back work? Lat development? Technique issue? Maybe I just need to gain more weight. Either way i'm going to be addressing all these areas to fix my bench.
I felt strong though nonetheless and was very happy with my squat PR. Hope you guys have a great weekend.

I think it's pretty normal to have a bench stall once it's over body weight. It's not really a stall yet though. Probably more like a bad day combined with the after effects of less than perfect nutrition, rest, etc. you've been dealing with. Keep eating well, resting enough, doing active recovery, etc. I hope things with the wife are improving for you.
Nice squatting. Technique looked borderline flawless as usual on everything.

Yesterday I felt good and strong in the gym vs before I was just not mentally into it. I was mentally into this workout and felt after my 190x5 set that i'll definitely get 220x5. 190 went up with ease so I had that confidence. I'm going to hammer my back, triceps and just reset my bench weight to probably week 3's bench weight.
squats looked perfect!
Thanks man they have definitely come a long way and have definitely improved. I'm still working on bracing my abs up against my belt.

I'll trade the arch for hitting 220x5 lol

It's been going up but now i'm stuck at 220x3.
It's been going up but now i'm stuck at 220x3.
LOL @ 'stuck'. I bet you could bench it five times at gunpoint given how that set looked. (Hypothetical of course.) You could probably try at it again and get it. It's not like you've been grinding at it for weeks and almost die on the 3rd rep. Working back up to it seems like a good idea though.

Hey guys I wanted to give you an update.
Me and my wife are done and she is filing for divorce tomorrow. I loaded up everything in my truck and will be living out of that until I get my own apartment, which I'm hoping is by the beginning of February or in a couple of weeks.
I don't know what's going to happen to my training and my nutrition is just not there for obvious reasons. I don't know how often I will check in cause I have so much sh!t on my plate right now.
You guys stay strong(er)
-
Man, that sucks to hear. I wish you all the best and hope you find yourself in a better place soon.
-
Did you find a friend to take you in or are you in a motel/hotel at least? Hopefully you won't be sleeping in your truck Anthony! PM me your phone number if you want to talk. I can talk anytime.
