I do not use Accutane, however, I use a very powerful face moisturizing as my family has always had dry/****ty skin. It was recommended to me by a dermatologist as one of the best moisturizers on the market. It's call Eucerin. Try to find it at Wal-Mart or Target. Real good stuff.
no i dont use that.
its not like dry skin, its peeling off, like sunburnt skin kind of.
I know, it's because it's irritated and dried out, even if it doesn't feel dry. I'm telling you, this moisturizer will help it. It's like red (around the area it's peeling) and comes off in lil chunks, right?
cetaphil.
it just peels around the acne it seems. It also peels on my nose, but i have no acne there. I don't know whats going on lol.
im going to get on accutane, but heard you cannot take vitamin a (so no muscle milk), also that it causes muscle weakenss, and joint pain as a possible side effect, has anyone on accutane gotten either of these symptoms.
The reason you aren't supposed to take vitamin A is because accutane mutates it and it "supposedly" makes you psyhcotic. And it's joint weakness.
I worked out and took vitamin a while on accutane. No bigge..
:twitch:

No I didn't get any of these. Just dry skin/eyes/nose; I think the physical side effects you are referring to happen mainly to non-active people.
To the thread starter, use cetaphil it's in a blue/white bottle and can be found at walmart other stores like that.
Accutane is VERY powerful. It is, in fact, basically a synthetic form of vitamin A taken in megadoses. When taken, you are essentialy poisoning your body. That peeling of your skin is a VERY common side effect, and really all you can do is use a strong moisturizer. Ask your doctor about any certain one he recommends. Otherwise, I would suggest Eucerin/Cetaphil brand moisturizers.
I can't stress the importance of using cetaphil or Eucerin.
These moisturize your skin by binding water molecules.
Regular moisturizers use oil!!! Baaad. Specially for acne.
Friend who was on it used cetaphil and it worked for him.
i've been on accutane and the peeling is a normal thing, if you have a big zit the peeling is caused from it drying out the zits, do not pick the dry skin off too early or else your not letting it do its job. Let it dry right out it will come off easily and there will be no mark underneath. Trust me do not pick it or you will no benefit from it. Big deal if you have to have that on ur face for 3 days at school because your face will be clean for years after and you will be a hell of a lot happier.
By FAR the best skin products have to be from Zirh. They are expensive, but very effective and smell nice too! www.zirh.com

No matter what goes down while your on that stuff i would suggest sticking it. Dry and peeling skin is such a small price to pay to be free of that ****. Any 1/2 decent moisture should do the trick aswell, you just have to reapply often.
