Valentine's Day Gift
I almost pulled a "Steve Harvey" on my wife this weekend. I came very close to buying her a 30-lb turkey thinking it was Thanksgiving Day.
But good thing the hearts and the balloons and chocolates reminded me otherwise.
This is my gift to my wife this Valentine's Day.

Before my female friends get all mushy and go,"AWWWW, Joel! You are so SWEEEET. You're wife is sooooo lucky.. You got her ALL THOSE FLOWERS?"
Ahhhhh.
Nope.. I took a picture of the flower shop at Price Chopper and that IS MY GIFT to her..
My wife knows how much I love her.. No need to spend 40 bucks on a dozen flowers only to see them whither away by Monday. She knows that I love her as much as all the fur, feather and scale on our 3 cats, 1 dog, 1 fish and 5 chickens. That is a lot of love.. Almost infinity.
Men: Let me warn you, my friends. It takes the highest level of 'slickness' AND A VERY LOVING AND UNDERSTANDING WIFE WITH A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR to successfully pull something like this. One slight mistake and you could end up in the ER.
Happy Easter!

I don't do Valentines Day myself mate.

Most people don't.
They usually have a partner.

Ha...very resourceful thinking there. :)
I don't do the VD thing either.
But...we did go to the Fish Market for a big fish lunch and a couple libations.
That idea always works for both of us.
Oh....Happy 4th of July to you too.
Carry on....

Valentine's Day is for teenage girls.

I wait till the 15th and stock up on post holiday discounted chocolates. I'm a tightwad and I like to binge eat sweets. After all it is really about the evil Miss Sugar right?
-
I don't see the harm in a flower or two, or maybe some chocolates.
Now birthdays....192.00 cash, or why bother.

Well, whatever you give her that means I have to give her 1/2. Keep in mind I haven't worked in a very long time...

Happy Alentine's Ay.
For those who will not be getting the V nor the D.

I just got the best V-day present ever! Husband and the boys left me alone last night to go camping.
Heaven! No messes to clean, dirty socks to pick-up and crisis to solve for an entire day :)

LMFAO!!!!
This sh!t had me rolling right here..

Love it! We agreed in advance not to buy cards/presents for each other as we can do that any time of the year. Not to diss anyone who does the whole cards/roses/[insert other romantic present here], but it's just not us.
And I hate all that mushy sh!t lol

LOL That's a lovely Valentine! :) I saw a report Friday morning on the early news, a male reporter asking women what they expected on Valentine's Day. Ha! One said, just some time together at Starbuck's over a coffee, every other lady interviewed said something very similar. No need for flowers, chocolates, all of the hoopla! LOL The reporter just asked: "Why didn't we get this memo?" Ha ha
:) Of course, all of those ladies could have been lying just for the camera! LOL

I actually like bringing my wife little things every now and again, just because. We've only been married 28 years, so I suppose that could change one day.

Any wife or girlfriend who gets "mad" or upset or butt hurt or starts a fight over a "bad" present or no present should be divorced or dumped.
It's a silly day. If couples wanna acknowledge it, great. If they don't, great. Having expectations is asking for trouble.
I wouldn't necessarily think a photo was funny, but I wouldn't get mad either. The whole cut flowers thing---for ANY reason, most especially for dead people---never made any sense to me.

LOL This 'Valentine's Day' thing is a money making machine, that's for sure! :) I saw a quote over the weekend: "One day in February isn't special, but you are." Ha! Now that's a worthwhile Valentine's Day message! I think the whole thing is fine if that's what folks enjoy. It's all the 'hoopla' that is a bit much, that's all. :)
I did come across another quote as well: "Cupid rhymes with stupid!" Ha ha

Flowers bring me such joy! Roses, hydrangea, dahlia, ranunculus, freesia, daisies, tulips, peonies - I love them all. I love bringing some of nature's beauty indoors. Because I am only in the office 1 or 2 days a week now, I don't buy fresh flowers for work anymore, but I do have one wall plastered with pictures of flowers, like the ones below.

Very true.
Speaking of proton shakes and sorry for deviating from the valentine theme, but wondering if anyone has any tips when it comes to adding fat/oil to them. Just ordered 20 lbs of coconut oil (flavorless) in preparation for a keto diet (never done one before) and just plan to add it into proton shakes. Will this taste ok or be a bit nasty? Any smoothie or shake like fat bomb tips are welcome. I may be too lazy for any advanced recipes.

I get nervous at the thought of proton shakes. Sounds dangerous. :)

We usually don't do much but this year she really needed to get away so we did. All 6 kids stayed home.
We went to Pittsburgh for weekend. No fancy hotel or plays or dining. Just us on our own schedule. My goal was to make her laugh as much as possible. So we tried some new things that she never would do if not for me putting pressure on her (no not butt stuff)
We did go to skyzone which is an indoor trampoline park. Funniest was seeing us 2 mid forty years olds with all those teenage kids. She laughed and smiled and relaxed it was great. Went to see a comedian (was great) and went to a casino (although we won $9 neither of us cared for the casinos). Best use of $600 at this time for her
