How they do it is a secret. The guys at my gym.
Ok...first off. No homo.
I work out with a friend of mine. Bigger guy, wants to lose and he has a way to go. I joined with him to motivate him, and in doing so motivated myself more.
But lately we have been noticing the A-Crowd. (That's what we call em, cuz they stick together in a very tight pack, circling the gym like sharks)
At first we thought they were personal trainers. But I saw one of them being asked to leave. Apparently the community gym I go too, has it's own trainers. It's their turf.
So the riddle is this.
They are buff, they are cut, and I have never in the life of me see them lift, bench, clean, use a machine, lift a barbell, open a door, flip the little nob on the water fountain, tie their shoes. I see them stretching a lot. I saw one of them stand near a machine and use it to stretch his legs. But then walk away from the machine.
The thing is...they are always there. I work shifts so, they are always there. 5:00 am. - 1:00pm. At least 1 or 2 of them will still be there, doing nothing. Are they employed?
At noon is when the pack becomes a unit. That's when they show up...doing nothing.
They like mirrors, shiny objects and they drink a chalky liquid. They get in the way. They stand by something and people wont use the cables, the machines, or the weights sometimes. I will cuz I don't care. Ill just ask em to move. It is a community gym so we have every type of person, from 20 to really old. The older folks get intimidated and literally walk away or leave early. (I think that is why one of the pack was asked to leave for the day)
Now they gotta be doing something because they are buff, ripped and look like they could lift a ton. But when I do go by the cables or the chest press machine or other things, they are doing at most 40 -60 pounds at most. That is if they are using the machines.
What is their secret.
