To have more muscle and less fat.
You bulk so that you aren't 6'0" 150lbs.
Bulk 20 lbs over 20 weeks, 10 lbs are fat, 10 lbs are muscls (approx, some will also be water and glycogen)
You just gained 10 lbs of muscle.

And if you cut, you just lost all that. Why do people do that?

^bump

No. This is why you're in the red. Read stickies. Why can't people read the information already given on the site?
the goal is to build as much as possible as quickly as possible
so u gain a lot of weight, understanding that if you eat a lot there is a better chance to build more while at the same time gaining a bit of fat
then u cut down on the fat and repeat
So for someone like me, Can I bulk up and workout and not cut? I think they would be best for me

If you wanted to. When you bulk you gain muscle+fat, when you cut you lose the accumulated fat that you gained during your bulk and keep the muscle. You could keep bulking if you want but you would just pile on fat, so most people cut after bulking.

Lol Im 6'0 150 pounds, I aint ever gonna pile on fat. I need to bulk for like, the rest of my life

Honestly, I like your thought process.
Bulk until you feel too fat to bulk.
to build muscle mass, you have to eat more calories than you burn. unfortunately, along with this gained muscle mass comes a little extra fat. the purpose of cutting is to get rid of this excess fat while keeping the new muscle you put on. so you'll lose some of the weight you gained, but keep the muscle weight/mass. that's the whole point
let's say you weigh 100 pounds at 10% body fat and bulk to 120 pounds and are now at 12% body fat (this isn't realistic and is just an example). 2% 120 is 2.4. so if you go on a cut to get rid of the extra fat you put on, and get back to 10% body fat, you will end up weighing 117.6 pounds. you gained 17.6 pounds of muscle. again, this is an example and isn't realistic.

I have a question regarding a mate. He's already gone from 150lb to 170 so far, once he reaches his goal weight, should he just cut or also do weights during the cutting process?
For example:
180lb 17 year old male, wanting to cut.
a) lift weights before doing cardio
b) only does cardio
Just making sure, i've already read the stickies that are important to me.
Thanks
And if you cut, you just lost all that. Why do people do that?
calorie surplus to gain muscle
calories deficit to lose fat
Lol Im 6'0 150 pounds, I aint ever gonna pile on fat. I need to bulk for like, the rest of my life
are you really this ignorant?

Always lift weights while cutting.

The point of bulk: pack on muscles
The point of cut: show the muscles (you have packed on)
Can't do both at the same time.

correction: it's extremely hard to do at the same time, unless you're on something.
Notsureifsrs or just incredibly stupid

Hmm I see. Thanks for that answer.
People workout when they bulk right? Or do they just eat a lot and not workout to risk losing calories?
are you really this ignorant?
Care to explain how I'm being ignorant? Look at my height and weight. I gotta bulk up big time. I aint gnna need to cut cause I'm not gonna reach the point where I'm gonna get fat.
it doesnt matter how skinny you are if you bulk correctly you should eventually gain fat. period. if you dont start to get fat you are not eating enough
Lol why do you chew you food before you swallow it. LOL.
You bulk to put on muscle and fat, you then cut to lose the fat and keep muscle.
Its impossible to gain muscle without fat. No matter what if you bulk for a good amount of time you will put some fat on your body
OP do you even lift? how the **** do you think you build muscle? if all you had to do was eat to bulk then 99% of americans ( those who are obesed, no offense to everyone here) would be a buff mofo. YOU NEED TO LIFT TO GAIN MUSCLE AND CONTINUE TO LIFT WHEN YOU ARE CUTTING SO YOU DONT LOSE THE MUSCLE YOU GAINED WHILE BULKING. honestly your the dumbest op i have ever read.

I'd rather just gain lean muscle. BBing is about aesthetics right? So wtf is the point of looking like phucking sh*t half the year

Better than looking like skinny kid all year every year.
Start: 150lbs ripped
Bulk up, gain 25 lbs of muscle and 15lbs of fat.
Now: 190lbs
Cut, lose 15lbs of fat and 2lbs of muscle.
End: 173lbs ripped
not sure if srs, or just stupid.

Before or after cardio? or doesn't matter that much?
Before or after cardio? or doesn't matter that much?
separate days imo
Before or after cardio? or doesn't matter that much?
I would do it before to make sure I have enough energy.
