I don't think i've ever seen a female wearing jeans in the gym but i often see men wearing jeans and a tank. Am i the only one who thinks this is crazy? Looks so uncomfortable! Anyone else see this, and what's your take?

Ya that is crazy, there is lady in like her mid 40's and really petite that will come to the gym and do abs and treadmill everytime in her jeans, I dont know whats the point, I think if she would ever do a squat that she would change her mind!!
As far as guys go, their jeans tend to be much looser but still cant be that comfortable.
jeans are NOT allowed in my gym. I see one or 2 people wearing them at times but thats very rare and when someone do they are told they aren't allowed. it is just not a workout "cloting" PERIOD
I've seen a lady wear jeans in my gym and I've seen another girl wear combats - it's so annoying because they rip the 'leather' on the benches and ****
I think it looks ridiculous and usually shows the guy isn't serious about working out, rather there to pick up girls or "buff up" before he goes out that night
I see people all the time in jeans at the gym, i honestly don't know how they do it! I would imagine it would get all sticky and gross. But as long as they don't mess up the equipment, then i suppose to each their own....
I see one guy who wears them, but he only trains upper body! :D

I have always thought wth when I see people (mostly men) wearing jeans....Not only does it look extremely hot and uncomfortable but how do you get your full range of motion in something so restrictive? Jeans tend to be a lil on the stiff side.
It is also against the rules in most gyms b/c the pocket buttons poke holes in the equipment seats.
I'd feel a lil gay if I wore workout clothing. But thats just me. I wear jeans for just about everything except wakeboarding, hanging around the house, and sleeping. (wear boardshorts for that)
I wear 'loose boot' jeans however, they are quite baggy and can squat, jump, kick, stretch, ect. without problems.
Quality jeans shouldn't tear or damage the equipment, perhaps the ones that do are cheap and the people can't afford any better jeans.
I apologize for invading this thread and part of the forum but i feel it may be ok as long as im actually giving some input :)
i personally have never seen anyone wear jeans in the gym and have never worn them myself but hey if someone wants to :P
as long as you dont see yourself doing it?
i personally just wear my underarmor shorts and sweater
but i can imagine it would be uncomfortable.
(no underarmor junkie :) )
I have never seen anyone wear jeans to the gym but yeah if I did it would give me the impression that they are not serious about their workout.
I've never seen anyone wearing jeans at any gym I've worked out at...I'm pretty sure all of them have had rules against wearing anything with metal buttons or riveting.

because all girls want to know about your "wee wee"...... lol
There's one huge beefy guy who wears loose jeans and a wife beater at my gym. Come to think of it, I don't guess I've seen him working anything but upper body.

either youre gay, or you think that you are gonna get some e-pussy hangin around the female misc. which one?

my beef is huge too ;)
I've seen 2 different guys at the gym in jeans, it drives me nuts! I just don't understand....and there's this lady who walks around with her purse on her arm...not a gym bag, no towel in it, no water, just a pocket book, on her forearm like she's shopping at Tiffany's....weird.
i wonder if these folks are warming up, cooling down and stretching or just waltzing in to pump out bicep curls
I see people on a daily basis, its the same people over and over too. I DONT GET IT. It cannot be comfortable, it has to be restrictive in some way. Tyically they are doing cardio too...WEIRD. I personally could not function at the gym if i werent in sweats or shorts.
Maybe they're the lunch-time freaks. You know, the ones that use their lunch to get all sweaty and smelly, then rather than shower they just shower in cheap perfume to cover the BO. I typically see them walking and doing cardio everyday.......nasty, straight up.
I can see the reasoning to not wear jeans to preserve the equipment due to studs by the pockets, etc...otherwise, who cares?
But to suggest people who wear jeans aren't serious about their workout? What the hell? I think if you are judging what someone else is wearing at the gym, then YOU ARE THE ONE not serious about the workout.
Do you busybodies REALLY worry about what people wear at the gym? I bet a bunch of you ladies lose sleep over that don't you? I bet these "gyms" you go to don't allow grunting either huh. ROFL
Yes, I wear jeans when I work out. NO, I don't go to a gym, because honestly, I think people go to them to be noticed rather than work out, and posts like this kind of prove it to me.
No, my jeans don't "restrict" my movement, I can squat just fine with them, and the rivets haven't damaged any of my equipment in the years I've been using them.
Unbelievable attitudes here. I guess everyone just has different priorities. I work out to get stronger and bigger, not to participate in a fashion show.

Not all of you... only 95% of you! :p JK
I prefer to believe those type are the minority... Experience tells me this may not be the truth. But darn it, I want to see the good in the world! lol

Sure sign of a teeny weeny is having to come to the internetz and boast about how huge it is! ROFL Don't bother offering me pics... I don't wanna see, and it's not neccessary for you to embarass yourself.
As for jeans... my only beef with them is that the rivots can (and do) damage the equipment. I personally could never stand working out in jeans. Too hot, heavy and restrictive.
